Publisher's summary

Best-selling author John Sandford takes all the action and suspense of his acclaimed Prey novels and heads west to the dark gleam of L.A.- where the Night Crew works. A mobile unit of video freelancers, they prowl the midnight streets to sell to the highest network bidder. Murders. Robberies. High-speed chases. For them, it is an exhilerating life. But tonight, two deaths will change everything.

Entertaining, but not up to expectations for Sandford.

If it was a new author I would not have been disappointed; however, as a loyal follower of Sanford I was expecting considerable more than what was delivered. Can’t always bring your “A” game.

Good listen

What made the experience of listening to The Night Crew the most enjoyable?

This was a good book as always. The ending caught me off guard. John Sandford never lets you down. Write more, faster....Love the books love Richard Ferone, he reads very well. Good book.

The ending

What does Richard Ferrone bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Everything, could not be better.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Yes it did make me laugh, but was also scary.

Strong woman protagonist.

Loved this change of pace for Sandford. The plot was unusual, without law enforcement leading the story.

I Think This Is Just The First

I had a bit of trouble warming up to this in the beginning, but as it progressed I got to like the lead hereon in the story. Like Lucas Davenport she's no nonsense and a bit damaged so she's willing to go to the dark side if that's what it takes.

Although it's a complete story....The very ending sort of hinted at a possible second story on the horizon.

Being a trucker from ND I prefer stories with Lucas or Virgil from MN and the region because I know many of the areas. But Sanford does a damn good job on location in CA too. In fact I also heard another new book with characters out of the Washington, DC area...He sounded well versed from there too.

John Sanford is one of my all time greatest authors because I can chew up a lot of asphalt listening and staying awake. Not all authors in this gents can do that

Sandford is always amazing!

one of my favorite Sandford books that doesn't have Lucas Davenport...I really wish Sandford would do another bok with Anna and the Night Crew. amazing book and narrator. Richard Ferrone is the best in the business...a must listen for anyone who loves gritty suspens/action novels!

Fast paced and well written

I thought the book was very well written, and well paced were no major periods of nothing happening . Excellent narration

I listened because it was John Sandford

Not a great story, not a bad story, just vaguely unsatisfying. The characters were not particularly well defined or likeable. The plot seemed typical Sandford. Just sort of meh. Not sure I would listen to another one if this set of characters develops into an independent series.

Kinda boring and a slow start

I gutted it out but this was subpar at best. Rook forever to really centralize on a lead character

Predictably Good

I have never encountered a John Sandford book that I didn't enjoy. Richard Ferrone always does a good job as narrator to tell the story. A very good combination.
