Publisher's summary

From a master of suspense comes a chilling novel that explores the dangers lurking closer than you think. Because even in the perfect family, you never know what is going on behind closed doors….

This is what happened… It was a case guaranteed to spark a media feeding frenzy—a young mother, blond and pretty, disappears without a trace from her South Boston home, leaving behind her four-year-old daughter as the only witness and her handsome, secretive husband as the prime suspect. In the last six hours…

But from the moment Detective Sergeant D. D. Warren arrives at the Joneses’ snug little bungalow, she senses something off about the picture of wholesome normality the couple worked so hard to create. On the surface, Jason and Sandra Jones are like any other hardworking young couple raising a four-year-old child. But it is just under the surface that things grew murky. Of the world as I knew it….

With the clock ticking on the life of a missing woman and the media firestorm building, Jason Jones seems more intent on destroying evidence and isolating his daughter than on searching for his “beloved” wife. Is the perfect husband trying to hide his guilt—or just trying to hide? And will the only witness to the crime be the killer’s next victim?

I like the story well enough

I like the story well enough and the narration was good. The only thing that bothers me as a police sergeant thinking like a teenager in high school about boys

Loved it

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this book, but most of my friend's don't like a book with some sex talk in it, and a few naughty word's, but they don't have an open mind. I didn't think it was as bad as some of the review's, in fact, I was not offended by it in any way

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Neighbor?

When she told her husband she was having his baby.

Have you listened to any of the narrators’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't remember all the narrator's, but I thought all of them did an excellent job

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

As a matter of fact, I did cry.....

Any additional comments?

If you haven't purchased it, do so, it isn't as bad as some of the review's...

Good first Gardner book

What made the experience of listening to The Neighbor the most enjoyable?

This book was enjoyable to me because there were several narrators and not just one person struggling through the various characters.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

I think for the most part it did. I don't recall being bored with the book at all.

What three words best describe the narrators’s voice?

There were several narrators, they all pretty much fit the characters well.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No extreme reaction.

Any additional comments?

I'd recommend this book.

Great book!!

I read another review that told me to listen to say goodbye 1st period so before purchasing this book I went back and looked for that book look. I found it and read it. Although, it was one of the hardest books I've ever read in my life, because of the content It was a really good book if that makes any sense at all. Then of course I came back and read this book. This book was equally as good.. The content was much different but much of the same. Details were not as graphic. Definitely a good book definitely read say goodbye 1st
