Publisher's summary

In this high-stakes caper set in the art world, anything goes. First, a young art student follows the trail of an undiscovered masterpiece by painter Modigliani. Then, 2 disgruntled artists plot to expose the hypocrisy of the art world. Finally, there is the ambitious owner of a new gallery, who will stop at nothing to assure the success of his enterprise. These forces combine to form The Modigliani Scandal, another tightly-plotted best selling thriller from master suspense author Ken Follett.

Ken Follett..not at his best

What did you like best about The Modigliani Scandal? What did you like least?

The narration and the narrator's accent made the book come alive.

Would you be willing to try another book from Ken Follett? Why or why not?

Yes. I chose this because I love "Pillars of the Earth".

What about Michael York’s performance did you like?

His accent and inflection

Was The Modigliani Scandal worth the listening time?

Not really..it was a light listen. This was the first of Follett's books. I think that shows.

Not his best

Would you ever listen to anything by Ken Follett again?

Yes, most of his books are very good.

Would you be willing to try another one of Michael York???s performances?

no

You didn???t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The story line had promise since I find art history interesting. I just could not bring myself to care for the characters.

One of the best!

This is one of the first audiobooks I ever listened to, and it spoiled me for life. Michael York is a brilliant performer and gives a wonderful depth to the story with his varied and eccentric accents.

Torn to Shreds!

There are 3 Ken Follett books that have been in my Audible Wish List since the end of 2012! That’s about 3 ½ years now.

Modigliani Scandal
Paper Money
Jackdaws

I did not buy the books because only the abridged versions were available and I generally don’t care for condensed books, but after three years of waiting, plus a sale, I decided why not! It’s time to plunge.

I just finished Modigliani Scandal and I hated it! I swear it’s like they threw darts at the original book and chose those random passages to create the abridged version. It was terrible. The story did not flow, it was choppy, the storyline never really felt like it was going anywhere… they really tore the book to shreds!

I didn't get this one

I love Ken Follett's writing, but this one I just didn't get; difficult to understand and not enjoyable.
