Publisher's summary

To survive in a game with no rules at all, John Corey must invent a strategy that includes no luck at all. The hero of DeMille's No. 1 New York Times best seller, Plum Island, Corey has been through a lot, not the least of which was surviving three bullet wounds while serving on the NYPD. Now he signs on with the government's Anti-Terrorist Task Force in an attempt to stop an alleged Libyan terrorist known simply as "The Lion".

The Lion has the instincts of a wild animal, the bloodlust of a carnivore, and the boldness and speed of a cat of prey. And now he's loose in America. Can John Corey stop him? Or has his allotment of luck just run out? Nelson DeMille spins an epic tale of heart-pounding suspense.

Keeps me wanting to continue even at 2:00a.m.

What made the experience of listening to The Lion's Game the most enjoyable?

A wonderful continuance of JC. Having a hard time turning it off.....2:00a.m. and needing sleep. Totally addicted to this series!

What other book might you compare The Lion's Game to and why?

I have only 1 full book left in the series to read/hear. Hope Mr. Demille will add more.

What does Scott Brick bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He gives JC life. I think he is the best narrator of our time!

Any additional comments?

Wish everyone gets to read/hear this series.

I couldn't stop listening...

DeMille has written another riveting suspense thriller! He has given us the most diabolical antagonist that we can imagine, and returns the irascible John Corey as the wisecracking protagonist.
You can't and won't go wrong with this book!

Maybe - Maybe Not

The plot is fast moving and held my attention but the dialog of the main character seemed to be written by another person...someone like a 12 year old boy who has to be the star no matter who's talking. That part was disappointing and I raced through it to get to the good storyline. I have mixed emotions as to whether I'd buy another book by this author. Great plot/bad dialog??? In this case the plot won.

Best of the best!!!

I have listened to over a hundred audible books since joining Audible.com. This one is my all time favorites. Not only is the story incredibly intense but the reader, Scott Brick, absolutely nailed the essence of the main character. You will not be dissapointed!!!.

Brilliant, Priceless and Entertaining.

The Lion's Game ranks as one of my favorite this year. It has intriguing theme, realistic characters, interesting quotes, witticisms and plenty of educational/thought provoking issues.

Nelson DeMille skillfully uses witty escapism to deal with sensitive and frightening issues. He holds your attention by crisscrossing between the wisecracking hero and the vicious master adversary. The Lion's Game could be leaner and the ending, to me, is deficient; conversely, it is well written and entertaining.

Although this is an excellent book, I suspect it will be disconcerting to those with similar background of the Lion.

Scott Brick is a superb narrator. With the exception of the Arabic taxi drivers and Boris the Russian, all his characters sound the same. Okay, not all narrators are as adept as Michael Beck or Frank Muller.

mixed bag of deceit

The biggest mistake I made was reading one of the "bad"reviews before finishing the book. Up to that point , I thought it was an excellent read. I couldn't wait to finish it , and it was so hard to put it back to read for the next day. The characters were a great mix and interesting. Jonn Coury , even though was a smart_ _ _ , was a perfect fit for his Kate. I found an inner meaning as the author described the cullture of the Islam people. (we) are ignorant at times to turn our backs on other people's feelings , but , at the same time , Kalil , I won't spoil it for the rest of thr readers. I loved the book but please no sequel, I couldn't take (Kalil) again !!!!

Great Story/Bad Formatting

I really enjoyed the story. The narrator does a good job and the story is full of witty dialogue. However, the Audiobook is not separated by chapters. It’s just blocks of one and a quarter hours, so if you want to listen to the book and put it on a timer, you can’t select “end of chapter” because that selection is just a random custom setting of an hour and fifteen minutes. It makes things really confusing when you pick up the book the next day. Then you must go back and find the beginning of the last chapter to get some continuity back to the book. Really inconvenient.
