Publisher's summary

The best-selling legal thriller - and CBS TV series - has charismatic defense attorney Mickey Haller taking on a slam-dunk court case involving a Beverly Hills playboy - but as it spirals into a nightmare, he finds himself in a fight for his life.

Mickey Haller is a Lincoln Lawyer, a criminal defense attorney who operates out of the backseat of his Lincoln Town Car, traveling between the far-flung courthouses of Los Angeles to defend clients of every kind. Bikers, con artists, drunk drivers, drug dealers - they're all on Mickey Haller's client list. For him, the law is rarely about guilt or innocence, it's about negotiation and manipulation. Sometimes it's even about justice.

A Beverly Hills playboy arrested for attacking a woman he picked up in a bar chooses Haller to defend him, and Mickey has his first high-paying client in years. It is a defense attorney's dream, what they call a franchise case. And as the evidence stacks up, Haller comes to believe this may be the easiest case of his career. Then someone close to him is murdered and Haller discovers that his search for innocence has brought him face-to-face with evil as pure as a flame.

To escape without being burned, he must deploy every tactic, feint, and instinct in his arsenal - this time to save his own life.

Great fun! So much better than the movie!

If you could sum up The Lincoln Lawyer in three words, what would they be?

This was a great story with great characters. Nothing heady - just entertaining and fun. I was eager to read it so I could then watch the movie. I was truly disgusted with what they did in the film - totally ruined the depth of the main character! And destroyed a good ending. I recommend this book!

You owe it to yourself to get this AAA+

Story brilliant. Characters and plot awesome. For those of us Los Angelino’s it’s like it’s happening in front of your eyes. Everyone else will still enjoy rush of the bright lights.
The narrator - I love him - such a fantastic job catching your mental imagination and taking you through a real nail biter.
Go ahead....make your day!

Engaging, but suspend disbelief

If you could sum up The Lincoln Lawyer in three words, what would they be?

Fun, Thrilling, Fiction. I was really engrossed in the book, but it did jump the shark a few times.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Why, the Lincoln Lawyer, of course. (Mickey)

Which character – as performed by Adam Grupper – was your favorite?

not sure

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

It has already been made into a book ...

Any additional comments?

There were parts of the book that had me rolling my eyes. Beyond that, though, I greatly enjoyed the book.

Great story but narrator sucks

VOice is slightly irritating and that takes away from the story. Frankly, anything that has been turned into a movie, should have an actor from said movie as the narrator if possible

great story but....

OMG, the music in this is ridiculous! So random. Random style and random timing. In the middle of paragraphs, not end and beginning of chapters as you would expect. That really put me off, but story is fantastic as is narrator.

Best Bottom Feeding Defense Lawyer Ever

One of, if not Connelly's best. Great plot with great characters. Fun to watch Mickey defend his sleazy clients.Someone has to do it.The main storyline grabs you and holds your interest throughout. The side stories add to the enjoyment. Good narration makes this one a winner.

One of Connelly’s all-time bests!

Great plot and character development. Good reader too. Just wish Connelly would write more Micky Haller books!
