Publisher's summary

The extraordinary new adventure from the number-one New York Times- best-selling author.

Jungles come in many forms. There are the steamy rain forests of the Burmese highlands. There are the lies and betrayals of the world of covert operations. And there are the dark and twisted thoughts of a man bent on near-global domination. To pull off their latest mission, Juan Cabrillo and the crew of the Oregon must survive them all.

A devastating new weapon unleashed in 13th-century China... a daring rescue in the snowbound mountains along the Afghanistan/Pakistan border... a woman gone missing in the jungles of northern Thailand and Myanmar... for Cabrillo and his crew, all of these events will come together - leading to the greatest threat against U.S. security that the world has ever known.

worth the $$

Where does The Jungle rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Clive Cussler is a wonderful writer. My husband just loves to listen to him and try to figure out just where his charater will come into play. There is no really down time in this book. Really a good book to keep you going.

Not totally sure why I did not go with five stars

I always enjoy Juan Cabrio books. I really wanted to go with four and one-half stars, but was not possible. That, only to allow for a rare 'perfect-storm', five star. Plot was good, reading excellent, but it did make me yearn for a tiny bit more.

Love cussler’s novels

Don’t care for Jason culp as a narrator. I prefer Scott brick. But overall the jungle was a great listen! The Oregon files are a great series! Love all of Clive’s work!

Bad narration- don’t get

I love Cussler but the monotone delivery and accents are unbearable. I highly recommend re-record with Scott Brick!!

Beware

I have read the paperback version and unfortunately the audio version leaves entire chapters out - why I have no idea. So when you are listening don't be surprised when the characters make reference to things that you are not aware of.

Meh.

I'm not sure if it is because Scott Brick is not the reader or if it's the new author but this didn't feel like a Clive Cussler book.
