In his absence, Hugh's son has been killed and his beloved wife, Sophie, abducted by a ruthless duke in search of a priceless relic dating back to the Crucifixion. Completely different from all of his other books. An excellent book and reader.

Royal Snafu

Wonderful engaging adventure story set in France, but the British accents, not so good. I longed for a french accent! Too English. It was hard to imagine France when it sounded like My Fair Lady!

Excellent

Great story. It held me at the edge of my seat the entire time. Voice narration was also excellent.

Different Kind of Book for Patterson

A love story, the hero's journey. Fairly predictable, but I loved the setting of the tale and the narration was great.

Grand adventure story

The plot may be a little bit formulaic but the story is grand adventure all the same, and I enjoyed it. I'm a little surprised by the negative reviews - it is a book about medieval times for grownups, after all. The "bawdy" jokes and sex references are quite mild, so if you find this book offensive for that then I'd have to say you most definitely qualify as a prude. If anything, it was the violence and wanton cruelty of war practices and criminal injustice during those ages that made me wince.

Errol Flynn lives again

This is a fun book. Took me back to all the old movies, Henry Wilcoxon, Errol Flynn et al.

I loved it

I really enjoyed this book. I do not care for "series" books and this one was totally different for this author. I would like to see something else by him.
