Loved it - I can't understand the bad reviews!

I am a bit confused why this book received such low ratings and bad reviews.
I thoroughly enjoyed it; the storyline, the characters and the plot with lots of twists and turns.
I enjoyed the narration too.

Excellent!

I wish there were more stars I could give.
I felt that this book just grabbed me from the very beginning, with no lags the whole way through.
The characters were all so well fleshed out. With no spoilers, I experienced many WTF moments, especially near the end.
Is there a sequel? 🤞🏻 It really seems that there could be.
Narration by Scott Brick, fantastic as usual. He could make a grocery list compelling.
I highly recommend this one for anyone who enjoys a good thriller, I feel this one was better than ‘good’. The fact that it was free blows my mind.
I’ve just discovered a new favorite author.

Very good. I love the narrator. as well.

I took me until chapter 14 to get into it. After that I couldn't put it down. Great story. Well written. Hangs together nicely and the characters are well developed and credible.

Twisted thriller mystery

Exciting plot. I enjoyed the narrator's performance. He's the same one that does narration for the series from Douglas Preston & Lincoln Child series featuring Special agent Pendergast.

Amazing book

This book had a lot of details and managed not to drag or overdo the little things. I love books that focus on the real life truths even when they are ugly. Great narrator and it brought out the fact that sometimes there are no happy endings, only silver linings.

That was suspenseful

I really enjoyed that. It was intense and could just as easily be written as a real story cause you know that horrible stuff like that really does happen in the cruel world. Loved how the reader really put the emotion into the story and brought it to life.

Confusing title...decent book.

I am not sure why Browne decided to title this one, "The Innocent Ones". Doesn't really make a lot of sense after reading it. However, this book was pretty good. A nice "whodunit" plot, with some interesting twists and turns. Honestly, the story got a little strange at the end. Kind of confusing, and a little off-kilter, but it was still a good book. Scott Brick is a narrator that really has to grow on a listener. Took me a few books of his to get on board, but now he is one of my favorites.
