Publisher's summary

There are stories no one knows. Hidden stories. I love those stories. And since I work in the National Archives, I find those stories for a living. Beecher White, a young archivist, spends his days working with the most important documents of the U.S. government. He has always been the keeper of other people's stories, never a part of the story himself...Until now.

When Clementine Kaye, Beecher's first childhood crush, shows up at the National Archives asking for his help tracking down her long-lost father, Beecher tries to impress her by showing her the secret vault where the president of the United States privately reviews classified documents. After they accidentally happen upon a priceless artifact - a 200-year-old dictionary that once belonged to George Washington, hidden underneath a desk chair, Beecher and Clementine find themselves suddenly entangled in a web of deception, conspiracy, and murder.

Soon a man is dead, and Beecher is on the run as he races to learn the truth behind this mysterious national treasure. His search will lead him to discover a coded and ingenious puzzle that conceals a disturbing secret from the founding of our nation. It is a secret, Beecher soon discovers, that some believe is worth killing for.

Gripping, fast-paced, and filled with the fascinating historical detail for which he is famous, The Inner Circle is a thrilling novel that once again proves Brad Meltzer as a brilliant author writing at the height of his craft.

My first Brad Meltzer book

I really enjoyed this book. Well written, interesting subject, suspenseful, great characters, and of course the narrator is one of my favorites! Neither the author or the narrator disappointed in this one.

good

I liked it a lot and I will recommend to read and explore, not to stay in what the government says all the time.

Inner Circle - Book One of Two or More

This book should have been named: Inner Circle Book One! as the story ends it is very obvious that a second book will be written "Book Two" sometime. I was going to rate this read 4 stars, but because of the ending, I will rate less. However, it is a gripping story and the characters are well developed. Great reader, Scott Brick. I REALLY don't like it when an author set up the story to be continued....if the books sells well.....without stating so.

Good Story - Poor Narrator

Would you consider the audio edition of The Inner Circle to be better than the print version?

No, absolutely not.

Would you recommend The Inner Circle to your friends? Why or why not?

The book, yes. The audio version, no.

Would you be willing to try another one of Scott Brick’s performances?

I'd try, but I absolutely did NOT like him as a narrator for this book. The only way that I can describe it is that he made all the characters sound timid all the time.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No

Any additional comments?

I'm interested in the series and will likely purchase the other books.

A good premis but didn't execute the idea very well. I'm not sure I like the authors style.

Full of suprises

Loved the book. I enjoyed the twists in the story, the Author kept me guessing. Loved the history within the story also. The main character is a nice change from the bold, confident type.

Alittle convoluted to me.

I enjoyed it but it got a bit convoluted at the end. He's a bad guy... no he's a good guy...no bad. No, she's the bad guy... Struggled at the end.
