Publisher's summary

Sherlock Holmes is the greatest detective in literary history. For the first time since the death of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a new Holmes story has been sanctioned by his estate, whetting the appetites of fans everywhere. Information about the book will be revealed as deliberately as Holmes himself would unravel a knotty case, but best-selling novelist and Holmes expert Anthony Horowitz is sure to bring a compelling, atmospheric story to life. With access to the estate's archives and careful study of the original stories, Horowitz is sure to weave a tale that satisfies new fans as well as the most dedicated Baker Street Irregular.

A bit darker that the original stories with many twists. Satisfied!

Holmes Haunts!

Watson has placed this story with his agent not to be released for 100 years explaining why Holmes fans did not read it when they eagerly read Holmes adventures years ago. It was great to hear from Sherlock's associates. Derek Jacobi narration is superior, Watson was speaking directly to me. I am glad I listened to this book.

very very good

this is a very good. sherlock Holmes knock off - I have listened to a numbet before this and they have not captured Holmes's unique style and the way he works problems - but Horowitz has done that masterly. really worth a listen.

Great pastiche, weird Sherlock voice

I was confused as to why Sherlock Holmes sounded like a priggish aunt out of P.G. Wodehouse and then realized this was narrated by Derek Jacobi. Mad respect to Cadfael and everything but the voice he used had me envisioning Watson running around London with a salty dowager and it was distracting. Rad story though!

Wonderful complexity and story.

This was a wonderful Sherlock Holmes story. The performance of the story was particularly delightful. I’ve already read “Moriarty” by Mr. Horowitz, so I will now be in search of further such creations by this author.

Annoying narration

The narrator uses an overly refined posh accent that I don't favor. It's a bit annoying, and makes the story harder to follow.
