On New Year's Day, 1976, radio listeners were introduced for the first time to a former Chicago cop turned hard-luck private detective named Harry Nile, the brainchild of mystery fan Jim French, who created the 1940s-50s-era character for a one-time-only broadcast. But audiences wanted more, and so began 26 years of episodes.
Here are 24 dramas covering Harry Niles' cases from May 1956 to Summer 1958. These are full-cast audio dramatizations.

A few years ago, the Harry Nile radio drama series was broadcast on a local radio station. I was very disappointed when that station stopped broadcasing the show. I was delighted when I found the series available on CD, and now on Kindle.
This is a modern version of the type of radio drama that was broadcast in the days before television became popular. I listened to classic radio shows as a child and still enjoy them today.
Each show is about 20 minutes long. The plots are intriguing and the characters likable.
I love Harry Nile. This is another great set.
Another reviewer mentioned that this doesn't stand the test of time. I'm not sure what that means given the the whole point of this is that it takes place in the 1950s. If you like historical mysteries, Harry Nile is for you.
I am a proud Mexican woman that loves words and reading/listening to books. I also believe that only through knowledge can we achieve progress.
Harry nile has been a favorite radio production of mine my whole life. Jim French Productions does a wonderful job with the shows and the performances are always great!
Retired teacher then social worker living in Spain.. have three grown up children 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A little bit of nostalgia, but sadly does not stand up to the test of time
I think he did the best he could with outdated material. Reminded me of the old radio sessions of Dick Barton
The performance was good, but i reiterate, the material was too old fashioned
