Loved it!

One of the best -- really good story - funny and adventurous! And Barbara Rosenblatt is the greatest!

Very enjoyable!

I enjoy Ms. Peters’ books very much. So many things I can count on and smile fondly. For example: Father of Curses being reprimanded by his wife; Ramses growing up; the evil people who … I don’t want to give anything away. However, I have to mention the Master of Criminals!

This is definitely one of my favorite Amelia Peabody books! I loved it! This is the third time I've listened to it. And no doubt I will listen to it again! Delightful and fun and humorous!

The Hippopotamus Pool

Another amazing book by Elizabeth Peters! I was so happy to see this book come to audible.com, as I had missed it on my way through the rest of Amelia Peabody series, so when it was released here I had to listen to this series again (4th time through), and this was the crucial missing book! Ms. Peters is an amazing author who brings Egypt to life! I find myself watching anything on the television that has anything to do with egyptology, and I find that she is incredibly accurate in the historic and technical parts of her books. The humor and mystery in this, and in fact all of her books is just down right wonderful. I find myself wishing and hoping for the next book in the series! This book can, as all of her books, be read as a stand alone, or in the series format. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did!

Rosenblat is the GOAT

This is not the greatest of the Peabody/Emerson books but Barbara Rosenblat brings it all alive. She ‘gets it’ and she plays it perfectly.

Incredible story and characters! Poor narration.

I loved the book! Another amazing Amelia Peabody Emerson mystery. The narration was not great… it made Emerson sound like a grumpy grandpa and Amelia like a dramatic fanatic. But the story is amazing and the characters are so lovable. And to the reviewers who couldn’t keep the characters straight you are who she refers to as “my reader who dose not posses a supreme intellect.” Highly recommended this book and all the others.
