Publisher's summary

From Janet Evanovich, number-one New York Times best-selling author of the Stephanie Plum novels, and Lee Goldberg, best-selling author and television writer for Monk, comes the first adventure in an electrifying new series featuring an FBI agent who always gets her man, and a fearless con artist who lives for the chase.

FBI Special Agent Kate O’Hare is known for her fierce dedication and discipline on the job, chasing down the world’s most wanted criminals and putting them behind bars. Her boss thinks she is tenacious and ambitious; her friends think she is tough, stubborn, and maybe even a bit obsessed. And while Kate has made quite a name for herself for the past five years the only name she’s cared about is Nicolas Fox - an international crook she wants in more ways than one.

Audacious, handsome, and dangerously charming, Nicolas Fox is a natural con man, notorious for running elaborate scams on very high-profile people. At first he did it for the money. Now he does it for the thrill. He knows that the FBI has been hot on his trail - particularly Kate O’Hare, who has been watching his every move. For Nick, there’s no greater rush than being pursued by a beautiful woman...even one who aims to lock him up. But just when it seems that Nicolas Fox has been captured for good, he pulls off his greatest con of all: He convinces the FBI to offer him a job, working side by side with Special Agent Kate O’Hare.

Problem is, teaming up to stop a corrupt investment banker who’s hiding on a private island in Indonesia is going to test O’Hare’s patience and Fox’s skill. Not to mention the skills of their ragtag team made up of flamboyant actors, wanted wheelmen, and Kate’s dad. High-speed chases, pirates, and Toblerone bars are all in a day’s work...if O’Hare and Fox don’t kill each other first.

Good crime caper

Co-author Lee Goldberg seems to have pumped some fresh blood into the Evanovich writing empire that had grown stale to me. THE HEIST is a globe-trotting, sometimes-tongue-in-cheek comedic crime novel about female FBI agent, Kate O'Hare, and con man, Nicky Fox.

Narrator Scott Brick did a commendable performance.

Fun con & international travel too.

For a die hard FBI agent and former Navy SEAL, striking a deal and working with a known fugitive was going to stretch Special Agent Kate O'Hare way out side of her comfort zones. Having the talent to get what he wanted made Nicolas (Nick) Fox the perfect man to help do what the FBI and other law enforcement agencies where not allowed to do, get some of the most elusive and wealthy embezzlers.

Book 1..... What a set up for a multiple book series. The concept leaves room for unlimited books, the combination of Janet Evanovich (writer of the Stephanie Plum series) and Lee Goldberg (writer of the Monk series) seems to lend to a interesting and detailed Con game full of interesting characters and fun international travel.

Fun light fluff

First time I have read one of this authors books. It was predictable but fun. Made me laugh which is always good.

A great variation for Janet Evanovich!

This is the first Janet Evanovich book I've "read" that wasn't comical like her Stephanie Plum series and others, but I truly enjoyed it. The performance and story were both well done. The ending tied things up nicely but still left it open for a sequel. I will have to look and see if there are others. If not, I hope one is in the works. I'll also look for some by Lee Goldberg. well done!

Humor Subtler Than Stephanie Plum

I suspect the over-the-top descriptions were tongue-in-cheek satire and that’s the way the narrator seemed to take them. They did wear on me some. However, I liked the characters and the story. Will likely try another in the series. The narrator did a good job in tone and with the characters.
