Audie Awards Winner, 2010

The stunning third and final novel in Stieg Larsson’s internationally best-selling trilogy.

Lisbeth Salander—the heart of Larsson’s two previous novels—lies in critical condition, a bullet wound to her head, in the intensive care unit of a Swedish city hospital. She’s fighting for her life in more ways than one: if and when she recovers, she’ll be taken back to Stockholm to stand trial for three murders. With the help of her friend, journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she will not only have to prove her innocence, but also identify and denounce those in authority who have allowed the vulnerable, like herself, to suffer abuse and violence. And, on her own, she will plot revenge—against the man who tried to kill her, and the corrupt government institutions that very nearly destroyed her life.

Once upon a time, she was a victim. Now Salander is fighting back.

Critic reviews

“Larsson’s vivid characters, the depth of detail across three books, the powerfully imaginative plot, and the sheer verve of the writing make the trilogy a masterpiece of the genre.” (The Economist)

“The literary equivalent of a caffeine rush. . . . Larsson was one of those rare writers who could keep you up until 3 a.m. and then make you want to rush home the next night to do it again.” (Newsweek)

“Salander is someone you will never forget. . . . Anyone who enjoys grounding their imaginations in hundreds . . . of exciting pages about the way we live now ought to take advantage of this trilogy.” (Chicago Tribune)

Narration great. Book ... yawn

To qualify as a bad actor in this series, you have to be: 1. male, 2. Heterosexual, and 3. One of the following: (a) involved in government, (b) involved in corporations, or (c) a stock bad guy character necessary to fill out the story (like a hoodlum). Lame.

When is the NEXT one in the series

I can't wait to get in my car in the AM and the PM to listen to this. I've had all THREE books...and the movie (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) subtitled in English. I hear they're doing an American version or at least an American made version...and I can't wait....I'm on the edge of my seat for
The Girl Who.......(part IV)

Simply put...awesome

My type of books are ones that don't belong to a series of books, but i must say that I just got finished with the last book in the Millennium Trilogy after reading the fist two and it's pretty simply to sum up, amazing. I almost cried in the ending parts of Hornets Nest...i don't want to give anything away but definitely would recommend buying all three!

Fa-a-nTASTIC !!!

Each book in the series was better than the last. I couldn't put it down! I found mysef cheering for Lisbeth and jeering out loud at the bad guys! I as so emotionally invoved I was actually almost worn out at the end (which I loved). Simon Vance's narration was wonderful. What a shame to have lost such a great author as Stieg Larsson

Perfect

This is probably one of the most well written and articulate trilogies I have ever read. Great, gripping plot, fascinating characters and excellent narration by Simon Vance. I will miss both Lisbeth and Mikael. I already miss the future works of Stieg Larrsson.

This trilogy is the best I’ve ever read.

Lisbeth returns to Stockholm. Bloomkvist has 2 reporters killed apparently the Lizabeth. The police think it’s Lizabeth because her fingerprints rd on the gun. She avoids police trying to find her father thinking he is behind the murders and to clear her name. She goes to trial after shooting her father. Meanwhile Bloomkvist is doing an investigation himself over who killed 2 of his employees realizing Lizabeth didn’t do it and there’s a strong possibility of police corruption. As per all Larsson, it’s a tangled web of characters, motives, excitement and friendships. This is my 7th reading of the series and not my last. It’s that good.

Last Book in Trilogy - Another Best of the Best!

Stieg Larsson gave us a trilogy of the best books of our time. That being said, don't miss out on listening to all of the books in the series! Number 3 is as great as the previous 2 in the trilogy. This book has the same amazing characters in a different set of exciting circumstances. Simon Vance is terrific once again, bringing the characters to life. I only wish we all could have more of Larsson's books to look forward to! Beware, once you start listening you will want to give up all else in your life so you don't have to stop! Undeniably 5 stars! Enjoy!

Insanely Entertaining!!

Just as good as the first two installments of this wildly intense, deadly, look into a wonderfully resilient girl-woman! Truly one of the finest books I've listened to all year!

Great book for listening.

I enjoyed this book like the others by Larson. I wish he was still here to tell us what happens next to Lizabeth.
