Publisher's summary

In Paradise, nothing is what it seems....

Army Special Agent John Puller is the best there is. A combat veteran, Puller is the man the U.S. Army relies on to investigate the toughest crimes facing the nation. Now he has a new case - but this time, the crime is personal: His aunt has been found dead in Paradise, Florida.

A picture-perfect town on Florida's Gulf Coast, Paradise thrives on the wealthy tourists and retirees drawn to its gorgeous weather and beaches. The local police have ruled his aunt's death an unfortunate, tragic accident. But just before she died, she mailed a letter to Puller's father, telling him that beneath its beautiful veneer, Paradise is not all it seems to be.

What Puller finds convinces him that his aunt's death was no accident… and that the palm trees and sandy beaches of Paradise may hide a conspiracy so shocking that some will go to unthinkable lengths to make sure the truth is never revealed.

Good Entertainment

When a book holds your interest by getting you to avoid attending to other pressing issues, you have to give credit to the writer. It's not a literary work for the ages. It's like attending a movie you found enjoyable.

Good story- interesting and fast paced.

Where does The Forgotten rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It's on the better end, solid story, interesting characters and an inventive plot.

What did you like best about this story?

The main character was interesting, I would look for more in the series.

What about Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s performance did you like?

The voices were great, characters were differentiated well and none of the accents or dialects were over exaggerated.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole book was pretty well paced and interesting.

Any additional comments?

I would read/listen to more in the series.

Narrated by...

If you could sum up The Forgotten in three words, what would they be?

I loved the story itself however a narrator can completely ruin the story. Thankfully the female narrator had little to do with this for if she had had more of a part, I would have had to return the book. While her voice, tone and inflection is good, the speed in which she reads ruins the book and when she speaks this fast...her voice becomes quite annoying, similar to running your fingernails down a chalk board.

If it is possible, I would have Orlagh redo her parts or completely redo the entire book.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Her voice was grating and irritating. I think if she slowed down, it would improve greatly.

Any additional comments?

I think Orlagh has the potential to be a great narrator but not unless she slows down. This isn't a speed reading contest.

Nice new story line

This book will make you wonder, and hope, that most of it is not true! Starts and continues at a good pace. Wish Baldacci would change the seemingly, required hospital scene!

If you could sum up The Forgotten in three words, what would they be?

This is more of a literary criticism of modern day illegal aliens. But good story

McClarty and Cassidy

These narrators bring Baldacci's words to life. This duo is unstoppable! For me the narration solidifies the story that much more. Mr. Baldacci please get this duo back together.

Exciting and well preformed.

The second in the series, every bit as exciting as the first and third. John Puller kicks some serious ass, with the help of some new friends.
