Publisher's summary

In Paradise, nothing is what it seems....

Army Special Agent John Puller is the best there is. A combat veteran, Puller is the man the U.S. Army relies on to investigate the toughest crimes facing the nation. Now he has a new case - but this time, the crime is personal: His aunt has been found dead in Paradise, Florida.

A picture-perfect town on Florida's Gulf Coast, Paradise thrives on the wealthy tourists and retirees drawn to its gorgeous weather and beaches. The local police have ruled his aunt's death an unfortunate, tragic accident. But just before she died, she mailed a letter to Puller's father, telling him that beneath its beautiful veneer, Paradise is not all it seems to be.

What Puller finds convinces him that his aunt's death was no accident… and that the palm trees and sandy beaches of Paradise may hide a conspiracy so shocking that some will go to unthinkable lengths to make sure the truth is never revealed.

Baldacci has done it again!

What did you love best about The Forgotten?

The main character Is like the James Bond of the military. Action, suspense and a great story. Baldacci gets you hooked as quickly as the story begins and never lets up.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Forgotten?

The two adversaries finally coming together in the fight to against slavery. Both heros are each a dynamic force.

What does Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Of course, their voices....reading the story as if they too are in " the fight". Voices with the correct timber at all times.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Definitely

Any additional comments?

I didn't think that any book from Baldacci could be as good as the heros in the Camel Club. It was an awesome, exciting listen.

Great Listen

What did you love best about The Forgotten?

I love the plot about human trafficing, which is really going on in part of the world. It may not be to the extent that was told in this book but it puts a human face on a really horrific problem. The Charater Puller is a great hero in that he knows when to do what is hunmanly the right thing, even if it goes against his belief.

What other book might you compare The Forgotten to and why?

The Charater in the book remindes me a little of Jack Reacher that Lee Child writes about. I can't wait for another Puller audio.

Which character – as performed by Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy – was your favorite?

Puller and Carlson

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but it took me four days to finish listening to it, only because I had other things to do.

Any additional comments?

Great listen, great charaters. Will recommend this to all my friends.

Sound effects

Probably would've gave it a five, if it didn't have the annoying sound effects.
All and all a good book.

Sound effects ? Why?

Any additional comments?

If it is a good story, there is no reason for the sound effects. I find them distracting and pointless. Otherwise a good and engaging book.

John Puller Has Become A Favorite

I always this author’s novels. I only listen when I walk, so auto books must be engaging. I liked its sense of justice metted out in spite of hero’s quick recoveries from amazing injuries. Plots are complex and characters well drawn.

Really liking PULLER

Engaging story about the horrific practice of human trafficking. No clue if these scenarios actually exist but they are more than plausible. I am really getting to like Puller. I like fictional characters that we can follow in a series: Childs' Reacher, Cornwells' Scarpetta, etc. Looking forward to the Puller adventure.
