Publisher's summary

In Paradise, nothing is what it seems....

Army Special Agent John Puller is the best there is. A combat veteran, Puller is the man the U.S. Army relies on to investigate the toughest crimes facing the nation. Now he has a new case - but this time, the crime is personal: His aunt has been found dead in Paradise, Florida.

A picture-perfect town on Florida's Gulf Coast, Paradise thrives on the wealthy tourists and retirees drawn to its gorgeous weather and beaches. The local police have ruled his aunt's death an unfortunate, tragic accident. But just before she died, she mailed a letter to Puller's father, telling him that beneath its beautiful veneer, Paradise is not all it seems to be.

What Puller finds convinces him that his aunt's death was no accident… and that the palm trees and sandy beaches of Paradise may hide a conspiracy so shocking that some will go to unthinkable lengths to make sure the truth is never revealed.

Loved it!

The two readers were excellent. The story was a great read --- an edge of the chair gripper, with just the right balance of humor and warmth. I hope that there will be many more John Puller Jr (and AWOL) books ---- please?!?

A good day

I love spending the day listening to Baldacci's
Genius. I play it on my iPhone as I do my daily
Routine. Cleaning and laundry become a little
More fun, when you are enthralled in his stories.
Thank you for a productive and entertaining afternoon.

Loved this Baldacci

It's always good when good triumphs over evil. This book had an interesting conglomeration of heroes and heroines and it kept my interest till the last word. I only let myself listen when I walk, so I logged a lot of miles finishing this book!!!!

So EXCITING! I LOVED THIS BOOK!

This was a different kind of book for me but it turned out I loved every minute of it! Very suspenseful, thrilling & action packed. The main character is a man’s man & also an appealing man to women because of his integrity, selflessness & compassion. I love John Puller! What a guy! Also, the character called Meko was amazing. Ladies, give this book a listen. They don’t make men like this anymore (if they ever did). I think men would really enjoy all the fighting & action that takes place. Lots of hand to hand & gun fights. Lots a cat & mouse. This book was not what I was expecting in a really good way. I hope there are sequels featuring John Puller. I would listen to them all.
