#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • From the master of legal thrillers, a page-turning classic of “suit-and-dagger suspense” (The New York Times): At the top of his class at Harvard Law, Mitch McDeere had his choice of the best firms in America. He made a deadly mistake.

Don’t miss John Grisham’s new book, THE EXCHANGE: AFTER THE FIRM, coming soon!

For a young lawyer on the make, it was an offer Mitch McDeere couldn’t refuse: a position at a law firm where the bucks, billable hours, and benefits are over the top. It’s a dream job for an up-and-comer—if he can overlook the uneasy feeling he gets at the office. Then an FBI investigation into the firm’s connections to the Mafia plunges the straight and narrow attorney into a nightmare of terror and intrigue. With no choice but to pit his wits, ethics, and legal skills against the firm’s deadly secrets—if he hopes to stay alive…

Featured Article: Christmas with the Kranks—Book vs. Movie

John Grisham may be best known for his legal thrillers, but he's also been known to deviate from form every now and then and write something completely different. Skipping Christmas is one such book. It was adapted into a 2004 film called Christmas with the Kranks, starring Tim Allen and Jamie Lee Curtis, which gained the story an even wider audience. If you're familiar with the film but don’t know much about its literary inspiration, read on.

A Compelling Thriller

This is a compelling thriller and well-read. I prefer later Grisham, in which the characters have more depth and complexity, and social issues are brought to life. The reading is competent and well-paced.

Succeeds as entertainment.

Great story; great suspenseful scenes

I recently started listening to Grisham’s stories. This story keeps you on edge the whole time Grisham does a great job here keeping the suspense and anxiety felt by the main characters alive throughout I remember when the movie came out and I was young and saw a few clips of it however I am going to watch the movie. The only reason I gave the narrator 4 was because occasionally it was hard to distinguish which male character was talking but great as the lead character and overall.

Good Grisham book

Good Grisham book, though I liked "The Testament" more. Well narrated. Mostly pretty exciting and held my interest.

Another great crime story by Grisham

I'm a fan of Grisham's work and the overall story of The Firm does not disappoint; the performance is excellent. The only negative for me is that the plot is too complicated; I think the changes made to the story for the film's screenplay with respect to how the organization was exposed and how it was handled made it a stronger story.

A classic. I love it!

I've listened to this story probably 6 times I think it's very entertaining , somewhat predictable but it's easy to follow and quite entertaining. If you haven't listened to it give it a shot.

Gripping, Edge of Your Seat Story

This isn’t really a genre I gravitate towards, but everything I’ve read (or listened to) of Grisham’s has been excellent. This book didn’t bring my opinion down.

Anything Scott Brick does also is excellent; I’ve really enjoy listening to the work he does.
