Publisher's summary

If you could go back in time...and witness any event...where would you go?

When Dr. Tom Greenbaum faces that question after successfully discovering the secret to time travel, he knows the time, place, and event he will witness: the death and failed resurrection of Jesus Christ. Dr. David Goodman, Tom's colleague and closest friend follows Tom into the past, attempting to avert a time-space catastrophe, but forces beyond their control toss them into a dangerous end game where they are tempted by evil characters, betrayed by friends, pursued by an assassin from the future, and haunted by a demon that cannot be killed.

About the author: Jeremy Robinson is the author of 11 novels including Pulse, Instinct, and Threshold, the first three books in his exciting Jack Sigler thriller series. His novels have been translated into nine languages. He is the director of New Hampshire AuthorFest, a non-profit organization promoting literacy in New Hampshire, where he lives with his wife and three children.

Critic reviews

"What surprised me, with [Robinson's] take on the possibility of two 21st century men meeting Jesus, was the utter lack of predictability.... He offers a new perspective on ripping apart the time-space continuum I am shocked no one has ever considered before now." ( Round Table Reviews)
"[A] thrilling and fast-paced 'what if?' scenario." ( MidWest Book Review)
"[A] rollicking adventure.... The story opens explosively and is laced with suspense and humor. Robinson writes quite well and is an up-and-coming author to watch...we'll hear, read, and see a great deal more from him in the future." ( Christian Book Previews)

More Time Travel Please!

This books premise was very cool. I love time travel stories and this one was great as far as that went in this book. I was not thrilled about the religious lecturing about Christ throughout the book, however, if you had to pick something that you didn't think happened to travel to in time, the resurrection of Christ is huge. Setting aside all of the religious stuff, the book is solid on time travel principles making it very enjoyable from the standpoint. I gave it a three overall because I found myself zoning out as the characters interacted with Christ...sad but true.

Pretty Good

I enjoyed this story and don't regret the credit or time spent. I really like time travel stories but hadn't heard of this book. I am actually a fan of Jeremy Robinson's and have read several of his later books. This was recommended by another audible reviewer. It was a good story but I was expecting more based on some of his later books. I feel as though Mr Robinson was holding back on this story, but I can understand why. All in all I would recommend it, but it's probably not a book I would listen to again, hence the 3 star rating.

A bit of a disappointment

First off, I love Robinson and have read a large number of his books. I will often buy a Robinson book without even reading the description knowing it will be good. And R C Bray is one of my favorite narrators, but this book was a bit of a disappointment.

The concept is great and had a lot of potential but was squandered in this book. It could have been a great story where 2 modern men go back in time and experience the difference between modern myth and the history of what actually happened but instead it was just a modern skeptic seeing that everything the religious world believes is in fact completely accurate and still comes up with alterior motives and conspiracies for everything he witnesses. The cheracter of Tom is flat and 2 dimentional with one trait: he doesnt believe anything he sees. Also its hard to believe that a man living in the US had no idea who Judas was and is completely ignorant of ANY biblical stories.

That being said the book was still entertaining enough to listen to if only for Brays narraration. I also liked the character of Jesus, he was a down to earth guy who cracks jokes and has to hide behind a tree to relieve himself, not a nose in the air god-man that the world views him as. It was a slight glimpse of what this book could have been.

All in all, if you have a few hours to kill go ahead and listen to this book, just dont expect gold.

Felt like it was trying to convert me to Christianity

I am not a believer and this book was basically a retelling of Jesus's life. If you look at it only as fiction, the story is told well. However, it was so blatant in it's trying to make believers out of the readers/listeners. It made it difficult to finish.

I love most of Jeremy Robinson's book, but this just wasn't it for me. I only finished it because I saw something that said it was part of the Nemesis Saga. At the moment,

Loved It!!

I think every one has thought about what it would be like to ge back in time. This reminds me of my own hidden desires to go back. Jeremy chooses an event and then creates what you would have experianced it, if you were really present. Jesus as a normal guy, with little pranks and indepth descussions. I was very impressed the whole concept of the book.

I really enjoyed this book!

I am such a sucker for time travel but this book does it really well! It covered all my logical questions about not only time travel but what it might be like for a modern man to travel back 2000 years and try to survive without screwing up the past.

The reader was excellent and conveyed the attitude of the characters quite well.

It was a fantastic premise and carried off quite well. Bravo!

Interesting idea, will not be listening again.

Would you try another book from Jeremy Robinson and/or R. C. Bray?

At the right price, I could be convinced.

Was The Didymus Contingency worth the listening time?

This book gave me a different perspective to consider, which I always think is worthwhile. Was it life-changing, no.
