Publisher's summary

If you could go back in time...and witness any event...where would you go?

When Dr. Tom Greenbaum faces that question after successfully discovering the secret to time travel, he knows the time, place, and event he will witness: the death and failed resurrection of Jesus Christ. Dr. David Goodman, Tom's colleague and closest friend follows Tom into the past, attempting to avert a time-space catastrophe, but forces beyond their control toss them into a dangerous end game where they are tempted by evil characters, betrayed by friends, pursued by an assassin from the future, and haunted by a demon that cannot be killed.

About the author: Jeremy Robinson is the author of 11 novels including Pulse, Instinct, and Threshold, the first three books in his exciting Jack Sigler thriller series. His novels have been translated into nine languages. He is the director of New Hampshire AuthorFest, a non-profit organization promoting literacy in New Hampshire, where he lives with his wife and three children.

Critic reviews

"What surprised me, with [Robinson's] take on the possibility of two 21st century men meeting Jesus, was the utter lack of predictability.... He offers a new perspective on ripping apart the time-space continuum I am shocked no one has ever considered before now." ( Round Table Reviews)
"[A] thrilling and fast-paced 'what if?' scenario." ( MidWest Book Review)
"[A] rollicking adventure.... The story opens explosively and is laced with suspense and humor. Robinson writes quite well and is an up-and-coming author to watch...we'll hear, read, and see a great deal more from him in the future." ( Christian Book Previews)

Sceptical walking in, walked out a believer

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would, and have already passed this on to my sons to enjoy.

Who was your favorite character and why?

A draw between David and Tom (tho Lazarus was a lot of fun as well). I related myself to David, I could understand his lack of faith at times even in the light of what was in front of him

If you aren't a Christian this is a bit much.

Look, like most things by the author, it was entertaining. I wish the time paradox and all the cool concepts were not wrapped up with a big Christian bow without addressing some of the actual big questions that agnostics like me have that prevent me from ever subscribing to the mythology of Jesus Christ. Not that Robinson's answers would be some revelation, but why personify God and then not actually delve into some more meaningful theology? Also, Thomas' total ignorance of some very basic and famous parts of the Bible was hard to swallow. I am not religious and have not read the Bible, but even I know who Lazarus was and what Judas did.

Great book. Better than I expected.

At first, I was reminded of a horrible book I read in my teens, Behold the Man by Michael Moorcock, which had a similar premise. Fortunately, this book departed rather quickly from that piece of garbage. It is respectful of the Christian tradition.

You Have To Read It !!

This story, The Didymus Contingency , is the most perfect book I've listened to. It's hard to characterize though. It has time travel, frienship , and religion. The only people I can see not liking it are devout Christians who wouldn't approve of the subject matter. My husband, who is the most perfect example of the good samaritan, has listened to it four times.

The premise of the book is so intersesting. Two men one a devout Christian, the other an atheist, . Have invented a very reliable time travel apparatus . They mutually agree to travel to Nazareth in the days preceding Jesus's crucification. It was true to the Bible, though I doubt the order of events. It includes all the best known events Jesus's life as written in the Bible.

Summing up, I loved this book because it so humanizes Jesus. It helped me to realize Jesus was a flesh and blood man with all the traits we share. He was kind and funny, even though the son of god ,and the savior of Christians. I recomend this book for anyone who is open minded enough, to read this book. It is very educational and always interesting. For example the two time travelers travel back to eat at their favorite barbecue resteraunt .

loved it...

...and I'm agnostic! Even having not been raised religious, I found that I was knowledgeable enough to follow along. Jesus's storys truly are rooted in everything.

unexpected Christian fiction

I've been going through a ton of Robinson's work, and I love it all. I'm a sucker for time travel books, and this added a whole other level to that. Im a Christian, but I dont discriminate books based on content, that being said this was a pleasant surprise, it was smart, and true to faith from a Christian perspective, plus time travel. this book being categorized as simply fiction has probably prevented it from getting into the hands of people that would appreciate it most.

A very relatable Jesus

Two Jewish scientists -- one agnostic, the other Messianic -- invent a time machine, so where's the first place they go? Judea, AD 25, of course! There are plenty of plot twists to keep this from being a simple "Christian fiction," but the best part is a very relatable Jesus and his Disciples.

Great book, and series

Time travel and Jesus. But not a religious book. It weaves a fantastic story about faith but doesn’t go into religion really. Highly recommend.
