Seventeen-year-old Megan Carver was an unlikely runaway. A straight-A student from a happy home, she studied hard and rarely got into trouble. Six months on, she’s never been found. When missing persons investigator David Raker is hired by Megan’s parents to find out what happened, he recognizes their pain - but knows that the darkest secrets can be buried deep. And soon the conspiracy of silence leads Raker towards a forest on the edge of the city. A place with a horrifying history - which was once the hunting ground for a brutal, twisted serial killer.

I am not sure! Would definitely recommend the first half of the book as it started off excellently- great plot and characterisation. However by the middle it got a little ridiculous and unbelievable.
Kept to the pace of the first half of the book and built on the story and characterisation.
Excellent narrator who really made this audio come alive for me.
The first half was!
I will definitely try another Tim Weaver .
Narrated brilliantly, no annoying voice changes and as with Tim Weavers books it was completely gripping, and believable. I'm a huge fan of David the main character there's so much potential for dark thrillers with his occupation and Weaver captures it brilliantly. Highly recommend.
"More of the Same"
If the story had been different from two of his other books. They are all too alike. I loved the first one I read, but got more disappointed by the next two.
Disappointment and boredom.
"Dark and scary"
Excellent, dark story which kept me on edge all the way through to the twist at the end.
"Another great listen"
A well told story, with a few twists and turns that were not expected! I thought I was at the end, but still 2 hours were left!!!! Kept me guessing until that final minute. Just wish I had read these in order as there are references to other cases.
"An excellent story well narrated"
This kept my attention from beginning to end. The narration was excellent and the story well paced and intriguing. Tim Weaver is one of my favourite authors and never disappoints.
"JUST BRILLIANT THE STORY HAS YOU ON THE EDGE"
really well written. explanations and details are brilliant. easy to listen to. David Raker finds the missing and what makes the story so good is they often survive so happy endings.
