I am an artist, lover of books. Love reading or listening to a good book. I live on the East Coast of Canada with an awesome ocean view.
I would consider one more book, this one was slow to start and hard to get into.
The narrator didn't put enough effort into the various characters.
There is a number in the series.
Sleeper, almost didn't listen to it.
This is the first book in a series with each book a great stand alone. The author creates great storylines along with sidebars of humorous home repair perils. Makes me want to visit up north!
Mystery book lover
This book is compared to diane mott davidson and her culinary mysteries, there are definitly a lot of similarities. If you like her books, you will most certainly like this one.
Lots of fun, great story, three-dimensional characters. I can't believe I haven't found this author before now. But what a treat. Now I have the whole series in front of me! As a new Mainiac from away...I have found a kindred spirit in Jacobia.
Loved it! Keeps moving quickly. So many Ideas of who, how, maybe?? Reader is fabulous!
This is not a great book that will encourage deep thinking but rather a good story with good character development and a good ending. I enjoy listening to books while gardening, stitching or walking. This was a good book for that. I will look for more.
It is read quite well and voice transition enjoyable and easily understandable.
The narration is very easy to listen to, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the characters develop as I listen to more of the series.
I'm not finished with this book yet, but there is one thing that irritates me. She describes one character's parents as "elderly" then later says the mother is 60. I'm sixty and I'm darn sure not elderly!
The story line is very long and drawn out. The overall thread eventually brings the thoughts together. A lot of unnecessary filler that finally in the last two chapters makes sense. Not a book I will re-read.
Fun, Engaging, Interesting
There are several cliff-hangers in the story, so it's hard to chose just one without giving anything away.
Yes. It's my third book of hers, and I enjoy her characters, the setting and the wonderful little bits of New England history she scatters in her stories.
