So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. Publisher's summary
Two years after the events of the Audiobook of the Year - The Chopin Manuscript - former war crimes investigator Harold Middleton and his Volunteers once again must crack a secretive conspiracy that not only threatens their lives, but the stability of the world. Critic reviews
"A feast for the senses, The Copper Bracelet continues the standard of excellence established by The Chopin Manuscript. Action, intrigue, suspense, they are all there. Another certified no-question-about-it-winner from a remarkable collection of talent. Bravo." (Steve Berry)
"What a blast to collaborate with some of the greatest suspense writers around on the thriller event of the year." (Joseph Finder)
"I can't think of a more enjoyable writing experience in my twenty-five years of being a fiction author than writing The Copper Bracelet and its predecessor, The Chopin Manuscript. We writers spend way too much time by ourselves in dark rooms, and it was a delight to emerge from the cave and hang out, so to speak, with my peers. I have to say that I sat down to read the manuscript with more than little trepidation. I needn't have worried. I was blown away...[and was] fascinated to see how a group of authors with vastly varied writing styles and approaches to creativity produced such a cohesive thriller with a relentlessly fast-paced narrative. (And, okay, I'll admit, I got a voyeur's kick in seeing how my talented co-authors ply their craft.)" (Jeffery Deaver)

Story
My husband and I are fighting for our lives in hospital after a terrible car accident. But despite my pain, all I can think about is what our families will find behind our front door. The scarf that has been all over the news, belonging to a dead young woman with honey-coloured hair. I have to speak to the police before my husband can. I’m drifting in and out of consciousness, but when I hear my wife talking to the police, accusing me of the murder of an innocent woman, a cold fear grips me. I know I’ve got a temper.

Story
The doorbell rings, just days after my beloved husband’s sudden death. I don’t recognise the woman on our doorstep, with her blonde highlights, a diamond bracelet identical to my own and a bouncing baby boy in her arms. As I show her inside, I notice her eyes grow wide as she takes in our spacious hallway, and the big squashy sofas that we all used to pile on. She glances at the silver-framed family photos and my little daughter hiding behind my skirts. She looks at me, her blue eyes serious. ‘I’m sorry’ she says. ‘I am your husband’s girlfriend. And this is his son.'

Story
When the call came it seemed like the answer to my prayers. My career as a voice actor had been over for months and me and my little girl Scarlet were living back at my mum’s place. I felt like a failure professionally—and with Scarlet having problems at school, as a parent as well. So, when I was asked to narrate a new book by disappeared novelist Philippa Roberts I jumped at the chance, even if it meant leaving Scarlet with my ex, Hugo, for a few weeks. Hugo, with his perfect new home and his perfect new girlfriend Saskia. But this isn’t a dream come true. It’s a nightmare.

Story
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

Needed a scorecard for this one!
It was hard to keep track of the characters and the plot of this one. Not sure why they would take a perfectly good idea and divvy it up between writers. It was able to retain my attention just long enough to finish. Despite all of that, the narrator, the fantastic Alfred Molina is almost good enough to pull off this mish-mash of a plot. But not quite.

Another exciting story by thriller writers
An intricately woven Harold Middleton story that is written chapter by chapter by different bestselling authors. A proverbial page-turner; it was hard to turn off.

Too many unnecessary twists
Several of the writers were very good and moved the story forward. Others seem to be more interested in creating mayhem and making it more difficult for the next author to write a good chapter.
The chopin manuscript was a lot better overall. Great narration.

As Good As The Chopin Manuscript
Another terrific effort by the series of writers. It's like a relay race with the baton (plot) being passed on and changed by each contributor, but with no idea where the finish line will be. Of course, there are improbable plot twists, but that's the same in many novels and movies of horror and intrigue. You just suspend your disbelief and plow ahead despite any confusion because the story and characters just propel you along. Molina is a superb narrator. The interview with him about the book - in a separate, free download - shows his intelligence and humility. I can't wait for the next in this series!

I loved it!
I'm having a difficult time understanding the negative reviews of this book. I thought this book was better if not just as good as the Chopin Manuscript. I felt each chapter was well written and complimented each other wonderfully. In addition, Alfred Molina was outstanding as the narrator just as he was with the Chopin Manuscript. Yes the beginning introduced many characters. However, once you understand the players it is a thriller that keeps you engrossed until the very end.

Worth the listen....
I thought the book was worth the listen. The book seemed to flow seamlessly, even with all the writer's differing styles. The plot and story line was silly, but entertaining if you like secret plots and teams of experts trying to prevent world domination by the bad guys. Kinda like a Pinky and the Brain cartoon; well, maybe not that bad. If you don't expect much more than that then go for it

Novelty has worn off
This is the second collaborative book by Deaver et al. Like the first book, there are a dizzying number of characters to keep track of. Many of the names are eastern european and it was hard to imagine how the names were spelled. The pace of the book is extremely rapid as each author hurries to get into and out of the chapter. The result is a plot that has discontinuities and fast changes of scene. Character and plot development seems to suffer with this writing approach. Characters are either killed off or disappear from the story all together. The one exception is the villainess which seemingly can't be killed. The authors are almost good enough to carry it off but not quite. Although this is fiction, the plot lines go well beyond plausibility.
The novelty of having different writers write each chapter seesm to come at the sacrifice of plot and character development. This book was interesting, but not the best of the genre.

Sounded like what it was
A bunch of good authors (among them a few of my favorites) having fun and entertaining themselves. Alfred Molina did a great job with it. It was not more than "ok" though because it was just too obvious what was going on.

Not as good as the first one.
This book was ok, but nothing to write home about. The first book, Chopin Manuscript was awesome. This one kept adding characters & plot turns & by the end I just didn't care.
