Fantastic listen: Entertaining, Exciting and Captivating. Better than 'Bourne Identity' (didn't think that was possible}. Can't say enough. Don't expect to hear what you saw on the screen (two different stories - both unbelievable). If I sound like a Bourne enthusiast, you're right. Wish that Ludlum were still alive and writing.

Not sure what could make this story better except maybe cutting it in half. I really enjoy long stories and do not read books with simplistic plots. However, this book was beyond difficult to follow - too many characters and too many subplots. Nothing was as it seemed, so it felt as though it should have been in the fantasy category. Disappointing.
It was entirely too long becasue the author created too many characters and subplots.
There have been an occasion or two when I've selected a book because Scott has been the narrator! Scott could read a phone book and make it sound great. He always turns in a terrific performance.
Major disappointment. So much so that I'm returning this book. No sense in keeping it since I will NEVER listen to it again!
Unless your mind resides in the rabbit hole, don't bother with this tome.
Definitely, I would love to see the actual Ludlum storyline used in a remake of these movies! Completely shocked me to see the extreme difference between the movie and this story!
Have listened to all of the first three bourne books and he does a great job!
If you are on the edge of listening or reading, listen! Nothing compares!
As far as Mr. Brick’s performance is concerned, I could not believe the praises I saw in other reviews. Mr. Brick, I doubt Mr. Ludlam intended for almost every line from almost every character to be dripping with sarcasm and venom. If you speak that way all time, you don’t have very many friends. Also, Mr. Brick reads so slowly I couldn’t stand to listen to him. Thankfully, I have speed control.
I have read Ludlam before and I saw the movie so I didn’t hesitate for a second to buy this audio book and I could not have been more disappointed. I don’t remember the other Ludlum book having so much profanity. I found it especially offensive how many times he took the Lord’s name in vain. Authors and publishers beware. There a many of us out there that will not buy a book from an author that uses so much profanity.
I absolutely love my audible account, makes its from enjoying a book to loving the stories found in the books. Do forgive my errors in the reviews i do have dyslexia but i will share my love with everyone
Robert Ludlum has done a great job showing of the dangers of the CIA doing something so dangerous that miss information and manipulations of David Webb will lead to a mess.
when someone is pretending to be Jason bourne the real jason is tricked into hunting the old jason down. bring him in and find things out. but when the CIA is to scared to ask David for his help they kidnap his wife. bad move. so now David has to go to China and hunt down a man trained to kill just like bourne would pretend to kill.
but the CIA have things go wrong very fast and so disaster strikes all over.
First of all, except for the title and names, this is not at all related to the movie. In this book Bourne is a schizo, emphasis on his two personalities much more represented. A duality of man type of concept. The book starts with a bang then has a slow intro to the stories being told which is kinda of boring but then the pace is picked up strong. A little on the predictable side but action scenes are not bad. A more accurate grade I can give the book is 2 stars for beginning chapters then 4 stars for the rest of the book. Scott Brick is top notch as always
Excellent! - Love that there is an Unabridged version! Thanks Scott - Well Read.
If I have to convince myself to turn on an audiobook that should be as exciting as the Bourne series, rather than want to constantly listen to it, then there's something wrong. I say it needs some editing and abridging. For now, I'll stick to the film.
It's almost like the movie was different all the way around. The book outshines it all over.
