"Wish I could give it 10 Stars!!!"

Fantastic listen: Entertaining, Exciting and Captivating. Better than 'Bourne Identity' (didn't think that was possible}. Can't say enough. Don't expect to hear what you saw on the screen (two different stories - both unbelievable). If I sound like a Bourne enthusiast, you're right. Wish that Ludlum were still alive and writing.

    "Far Too Complicated"
What would have made The Bourne Supremacy better?

Not sure what could make this story better except maybe cutting it in half. I really enjoy long stories and do not read books with simplistic plots. However, this book was beyond difficult to follow - too many characters and too many subplots. Nothing was as it seemed, so it felt as though it should have been in the fantasy category. Disappointing.

What was most disappointing about Robert Ludlum’s story?

It was entirely too long becasue the author created too many characters and subplots.

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

There have been an occasion or two when I've selected a book because Scott has been the narrator! Scott could read a phone book and make it sound great. He always turns in a terrific performance.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Major disappointment. So much so that I'm returning this book. No sense in keeping it since I will NEVER listen to it again!

    Any additional comments?

Unless your mind resides in the rabbit hole, don't bother with this tome.

"Great Read! Better than the Movie!"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Definitely, I would love to see the actual Ludlum storyline used in a remake of these movies! Completely shocked me to see the extreme difference between the movie and this story!

Have you listened to any of Scott Brick’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Have listened to all of the first three bourne books and he does a great job!

    Any additional comments?

If you are on the edge of listening or reading, listen! Nothing compares!

"Where did the Movie come from????"
If you could sum up The Bourne Supremacy in three words, what would they be?

    Different but Astounding

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

I loved the book but Marie drove me up the wall. I know why the movies killed her.

    "The Real Jason Bourne!!"

It's probably the 4-5 time I've read this trilogy by the real author Robert Ludlum.
Book: Overall - Performance - Story: 10 Star
Movie: 2 star (Not even the same story - can't believe the owners to the rights of this book r so stupid - money hungry bureaucrats!!)

"A nonsensical story with overwrought narration"
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The story would have to be very different for this to be a better listening experience.

Has The Bourne Supremacy turned you off from other books in this genre?

It has turned me off, a little. I love this genre of fiction, but a lot of poor writing seems to be forgiven even when the stories are not so great.

Did Scott Brick do a good job differentiating all the characters? How?

I had no trouble distinguishing between the characters during the narration.

What character would you cut from The Bourne Supremacy?

I would probably cut Catherine Staples.

    Any additional comments?

This story is just implausible, with the U.S. government engaged in overcomplicated manipulation of people to achieve dubious ends, and the urgency of the crisis is unconvincing. Jason Bourne in all his personas is ill-tempered and emotionally unstable (traits that are particularly evoked by the narration). Why would Marie (his wife of one year) be so attached to this man? Early in the story he is easily fooled several times, then somehow a brilliant tactician when it suits the narrative. I read and enjoyed the first book, and enjoy this genre, but this book put me off the rest of the series and probably the rest of Ludlum as well. I'd rather blow my credits on less hacky works.

    Story
"Lost interest about half way through"

The Bourne Identity held my interest pretty tightly throughout because of the personal urgency I felt about Bourne. I wanted him to succeed, and with each wave of adversity, I was rooting for him.

In Supremacy, it started out the same way but then Ludlum tries to paint with a larger brush of international intrigue, and suddenly, or rather, bit by bit, I began to care less. It's as if Bourne steps a bit into the background, giving way to a host of less interesting characters.

I still recommend the first one and I won't go for the third one. I'll watch the movies a fifth time instead.
