Publisher's summary

The New York Museum of Natural History receives their pilfered gem collection back, ground down to dust. Diogenes, the psychotic killer who stole them in Dance of Death, is throwing down the gauntlet to both the city and to his brother, FBI Agent Pendergast, who is currently incarcerated in a maximum security prison.

To quell the PR nightmare of the gem fiasco, the museum decides to reopen the Tomb of Senef. An astounding Egyptian temple, it was a popular museum exhibit until the 1930s, when it was quietly closed. But when the tomb is unsealed in preparation for its gala reopening, the killings, and whispers of an ancient curse, begin again. And the catastrophic opening itself sets the stage for the final battle between the two brothers: an epic clash from which only one will emerge alive.

Music???

This version contained music at certain points. Was not expecting that. Not bad, it was to add to the feeling of the story at the points where it was utilized. But a heads up would have been useful.

Diogenes Meets His Match

This is the third and last book in the Diogenes trilogy, book 7 in the overall Pendergast series. A magnificent culmination of the battle between the Pendergast brothers. It begins with our hero incarcerated and Diogenes continuing with his ultimate plan. Hayward and D'agosta are estranged. From this, a tight tension filled web is woven. I'm pleased to see Eli Glinn from the Ice Limit here, he is the only person I've seen formidable enough to go toe to toe with Pendergast himself and his help is sorely needed. Don't try to anticipate what will happen, the authors are brilliant at misdirection. Everyone gets a chance to shine, Hayward finally listens to her sweetie, Pendergast learns about himself and Diogenes strikes. Special mention to Constance Green. You go girl!! Both she and Hayward are women who are forces of nature. This novel will have you in an emotional tangle. Masterfully narrated by Scott Brick, it packs a punch in audio. This book is another reason I've become a huge fan of Preston and Child.

Outstanding!! Bravo!!

For fans of Pendergast/History Museum of New York/Vincent Degosta, left hanging at the end of the last novel, this is the fantastic sequel. The story does not disappoint on any level, character development, plot twists, outcome... Stop reading this and download!!:)

Amazing!

I have been a fan of the Pendergast novels since I read Relic! Even though the novels are great reads, intelligent and complex, I find that I enjoy the Audible versions even more.

The ending to the trilogy is here.....

The story line is good. It is not as fast paced as the previous two but it is still very good with suspense. It is good to see that Ms. Green actually plays a greater role in this story and she will pleasantly surprise you. Must listen to finish the Diogenes story.

WOW! MEET THE PENDERGASTS

Great listen! Preston & Childs made me feel like an invisible part of each Chapter. I finally understand the feelings of both brothers from their early years. So much history in the Pendergast line. I listened to this out of sequence, but, is a great performance by itself and talk about a "cliff hanger!" WOW! Plot was excellent. Lots of tense moments. If you are good at figuring out who is who I think this one might surprise you and I didn't figure out the mysterious "who" that we all were looking for. Good writing. The museum/temple scene is a real nail bitter. I highly recommend this intense listen to everyone, especially for any of us Pendergast "groupies"

Great Pendergast Novel

One of my favourite Pendergast Novels, full of suspense and unpredictable twists and turns.
In comparison to previous novels, I really liked the more-complex, multi-faceted characters, making the book entirely unpredictable (Even though I found myself checking if there were more Pendergast novels in case Pendergast did not survive...).
A thoroughly enjoyable read. Already downloaded the next novel. Can't wait to get started!
