Bosch much more than a supermarket detective novel

Where does The Black Echo: Harry Bosch Series, Book 1 rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This lies in-between a guilty pleasure detective novel and a good piece of literature. Absolutely perfect on a commute. Not so dense as to require your full attention, but well written and well read enough to keep you engaged.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Black Echo: Harry Bosch Series, Book 1?

There is an excellent twist at the end that you'll have to hear for yourself.

This is a typically good read from Dick Hill.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book has some depth in character development, but it is not extremely emotional.

love this book and the reader was excellent

I love to read or hear how detectives work a case to the conclusion. this is a great one in that it has lots of twists and turns in the case. always interesting to read a book before cell phones when the police had to use pay phones, too! I recommend the book!

Interesting and intriguing

This book caught my attention from the first minute. I couldn't wait to get back into the story any time I needed to step away. I will most definitely be looking into more from this series.

Great book, exceeded my expectations

First off - the audio performance is extraordinary.

Second - This is the best Harry Bosch story I've heard so far... Unfortunately I never heard of Bosch until I started reading about Mickey Haller, so I have read a bunch of Bosch's stories in the wrong order.

it's up there with the best. i am hooked on Michael Connelly's Bosch series.

What other book might you compare The Black Echo: Harry Bosch Series, Book 1 to and why?

I compare much of Connelly's Bosch series of books to Lee Child's Jack Reacher books. Great characters and the books are to the point, fast paced gripping with great twists.

Have you listened to any of Dick Hill’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes i have, he is a great narrator. amazing at acting out different voices and emotions of the scenes.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

No, i am not reading that type of book. this isn't exactly mills and boon.

Can't get enough of the Bosch series. i am so worried as am coming to the end of getting through them all. What next, i like Lee Child's books and Michael Connelly's books. need to find something similar.

Bosch hangs with you.

I read a wide variety of books. Connelly's pacing is excellent. He creates vivid characters. The plots are, in the end, a little far-fetched, but it's worth it to get to know Harry Bosch.
