Cold Cases can be solved

Anika Gesperson is found dead in an ally, one shot in her eye, Harry and Edgar are called on the caes in 1992 right around the times of the riots, now after 20 years Harry is returning back to the same case to try and solve it, now all he has to go off of is a bullet and small bit of evidence that he and Edgar were able to collect back in 1992. Now with his new partner, Chew, they are trying to follow the bullet, and find the black box which will lead them to what really happened to Anika Gesperson the day that she came to vist LA for the first time. The Black Box is that one piece of evidence that will connect all the unsolved crimes that are associated with this bullet from the evidence file. The history that Harry uncovers is mind blowing, he always thinks that he is working on one case but somehow other cases tend to fall in his lap. With this case it seems like every lead they have is turning into another dead end or another dead body. Harry is concerned that he will still not be able to find out who killed this reporter. This book had me nervous at first I am so used to harry always catching his guy that I started out with doubt, as always Michael Connelly has created another master piece that has captured me and my attention. What I like is how this story starts off one way but in the middle there is a twist and leads you into a different direction that you never thought was coming, the twist and turns in this book keep you engaged.

Excellent, one of his best!

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book. The author continues to develop his characters in a consistent and intriguing manner.

Get'em HARRY!!!

Another Really Good H.Bosch adventure! Pay close attention to details & clues cuz they All keep adding up! I enjoy the softer, loving, proud Dad-side that Harry shows only to his daughter. All in All Harry Bosch Rocks!!!!

another good Bosch story, but that narrator...

My main complaint with this narrator is that they sound more like an announcer than a narrator. the change in pitch or inflection that I've grown accustomed to with the previous narrator is not present. a much more dry performance I must say.

Another #BoschGift

Bosch is the gift that keeps on giving. As with all of the best crime dramas/mysteries, the best ones keep the listener/reader guessing “Who done it?” Well, Bosch and Donnelly did it again, another well disguised ending that wraps it all up.
I hope Donnelly has no plans of retiring Harry Bosch!

Great Book

This was an excellent murder mystery. Great plot and well read on Audible. I thoroughly enjoyed it

Another Great Bosch book !

I enjoy ALL Bosch books. But, this one is one of my favorites. Not just for the story, but a key storyline takes part in an area of Northern Calif (Stanislaus County) where I grew up. So, I could tell the depth and accuracy of the locale, as it was described in the story, was very accurate.

Another great one

One of the best things about the Bosch books is that they are not formulaic. Unlike e.g., Alan Furst, who gets stale, imho, after about 7 or so books. Bravo Michael Connelly!

Welcome back Harry Bosch

Once again Audible has made it possible for me to listen to the newest release from one of my favorite authors almost before the ink has dried on the pages of this great book. Michael Connelly has a habit of turning out these excellent books featuring Harry Bosch and mores the good fortune it doesn't look like he's about to stop. In this book Connelly uses actual historical events to set up an imaginative scenario for a story that he goes on to tell in his usual superlative manner. Once I started listening to this book, that was it, there was no way I could have possibly have stopped before I got to the very end. It seemed to me that Connelly is really beginning to develop Maddie Bosch's personality while at the same time he keeps building the character of Harry Bosch. I can see at some time in the future Connelly putting out books featuring first Officer and then later on Detective Maddie Bosch, daughter of the legendary Detective Harry Bosch. Besides being an excellent book in and of itself The Black Box also does a great job of beginning to set that up. The only downside of this selection is having Michael McConnohie as the narrator. He isn't Harry Bosch, Len Cariou is.
