Look, it's Harry. He never disappoints. Audio book, paper or ebook, this is solid entertainment.

Nope

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Nope. That's not criticism. I wanted to savour it.

Any additional comments?

McConnohie is the best Bosch narrator so far. He absolutely captures Harry the way I see him.

Interesting plot twists....

The narrator was sadly inept or inexperienced making an interesting story a chore to listen to. There were also many instances of skips in the recording. All in all not a satisfying listen, wish I'd just read this book.

Great story

Very good story and plot, really liked the end and what Bosch did with the criminal.
Wasn't too fan of the narrator though.

Where does The Black Box rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Good read, seemed to be a little shorter story line, but as always Michael Connelly draws you in for another turn in Harry's life!

Disappointed

Maybe I don't remember the rest of the Harry Bosch novels, but I was disappointed in a number of items in Harry's character that were displayed in this book. I always have seen Harry above using the "tricks" to accomplish solving the crimes. I feel like the author cut corners in the plot to finish the story. Overall it is still a Michael Connelly novel which still makes it one of the best

Case good...too much personal story, distracting

I like Harry Bosch and have read all of Michael Connelly's books with avid appreciation. While the cold case that Bosch is working in Black Box is interesting, what was distracting to me was what flet like way too much time spent on the relationship between Bosch and his daughter Maddy. One whole chapter spent at a firing range...in a physical book, I could skim this, but on audio, it seemed endless. Connelly is a master of the long-range serial plots, so I know that the prowess that this endless chapter was meant to point out will surface in a book somewhere down the line, but for me, it really killed the momentum.
