Publisher's summary

Newly elected, Jack Ryan has found that being President is not easy: domestic pitfalls await him at every turn; there's a revolution in Liberia; the Asian economy is going down the tubes; and now, in Moscow, someone may have tried to assassinate the chairman of the SVR - the former KGB - with a rocket-propelled grenade. Were the potential assassins political enemies, the Russian Mafia, or disaffected former KGB? Or is something far more dangerous at work here? While Ryan dispatches his most trusted eyes and ears, including black ops specialist John Clark, to find out the truth of the matter, forces in China are moving ahead with a plan of truly audacious proportions. If they succeed, the world will never look the same again.

tough listen; great story

A better choice could've been made for the narrator. I have listened to many audible books and this reader was by far the hardest to listen to. If I had more free time for actually *reading,* I wouldn't have finished this and would have picked up the book as the story was great.

Good

A good book to listen to. Good story line and it held my interest. Good detail and description of the military hardware. I think you would enjoy this one.

Maybe my favorite audible book

I think this is only my first or second Audible review. Having been massively disappointed with the last offering of Brad Thor and The Campus series I decided to reach back for some older Tom Clancy. This book had it all. The plot, character development and the action were all very well done. The variety was fantastic too. Michael Prichard stepped it up a notch as well.

Great book/Still relevant

I was impressed that this book felt relevant to today's international/political climate 20 years since it's publishing. As usual, it takes a bit to heat up but Tom Clancy reels you in to this drama like no one else can do. The narration was good as well.

One of Clancy’s best!!

I read this book years ago and really liked it. Listening to it now was a treat! I found myself comparing his descriptions of technology to what we have today really funny!!

This is a great story and a really good listen!! I highly recommend!!!

Another Great Listen

Micheal Prichard is a fantastic narrator, and while some people complain about him, those people are just flat wrong.

Excellent Reading!

Although dated, this story stands out as one of Tom Clancy's best. Well worth listening to if you have a spare 30+ hours to listen.
