Publisher's summary

Every politician has a secret. And when the daughter of a politically connected family is kidnapped abroad, America's new president will agree to anything - even a deadly and ill-advised rescue plan - in order to keep his secret hidden.

A new administration and a new approach to dealing with America's enemies have left covert counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath without a job. But when American doctor Julia Gallo is kidnapped in Afghanistan, the terms of her ransom leave the president with only one course of action. In a dangerous assignment that the United States government will deny any knowledge of, Scot Harvath must secretly infiltrate Kabul's notorious Policharki Prison and free the man the kidnappers demand as ransom -- al-Qaeda mastermind, Mustafa Khan.

But when Harvath arrives, he quickly learns that there is more to the kidnapping than anyone dares to admit. And as the subterfuge is laid bare, Harvath must examine his own career of hunting down and killing terrorists, and ask himself if he has what it takes to help one of the world's worst go free.

Brimming with the kind of ripped-from-the-headlines authenticity Brad Thor's internationally bestselling novels are known for, The Apostle doubles down on the blockbuster success of The Last Patriot and reaffirms Thor's status as the master of the political thriller.

Still breathing? Take another thrill ride with superagent Scot Harvath.

Thor did it again.

we get more layers of Harvath. This book has been a great get away from disaster that was the 2020 election.

Not the best Harvath Book

This could have been better. Just couldn't get into this one like the others. Hopefully the next one is better

Brad Thor stays up-to-date

Always up-to-date with the headlines and the current global themes. Brad Thor reads like a current events thriller and sometimes it is hard to remember that it is a fiction novel! Always enjoy the series and had a hard time putting this one down!

Great modern tale of excitement and suspense

Brad Thor has written an great tale of suspense and adventure set in the modern world with all of the issues currently in the headlines. The plot was great and the characters were adequately developed to draw the reader into the story. I felt like I was along for the ride in downtown DC and in Afghanistan as well! An awesome story and a must read for lovers of mercenary drama like this.

Scot Harvath is my new hero.

Brad Thor is my new favorite Author.
excellent stories, great performance by BOTH
narrators. I'm still a Mitch Rapp fan but....
Scot Harvath is not an assassin, he's a soldier.
His training as a SEAL and secret service make him a far deadlier operator. I'm sorry Mitch
but "Norseman" is outta your league.

Marked for greatness

Another awesome story & narration. Impressive use of multiple voices and personalities by the narrator. Incredible story by Mr Thor. We love the 2 ongoing stories at the same time which tie in together at some point in the book

Exciting!!!😱😑

Wonderful work. Love the author. Accustomed to the reader. Each work is so different from the book before it. Story is exciting and difficult to put down. The hero remains heroic and is never disappointing.

could have done without the excessive profanities, just like the other books, but I liked it all the same
