Publisher's summary

For Dr. David Beck, the loss was shattering. And every day for the past eight years, he has relived the horror of what happened. The gleaming lake. The pale moonlight. The piercing screams. The night his wife was taken. The last night he saw her alive.

Everyone tells him it's time to move on, to forget the past once and for all. But for David Beck, there can be no closure. A message has appeared on his computer, a phrase only he and his dead wife know. Suddenly Beck is taunted with the impossible - that somewhere, somehow, Elizabeth is alive.

Beck has been warned to tell no one. And he doesn't. Instead, he runs from the people he trusts the most, plunging headlong into a search for the shadowy figure whose messages hold out a desperate hope. But already Beck is being hunted down. He's headed straight into the heart of a dark and deadly secret - and someone intends to stop him before he gets there.

Don't waste time on abridged book

What did you like best about Tell No One? What did you like least?

Abridged book leaves out key elements of the plot making it difficult to follow. Plenty of "fluff" could have been edited out in order for the story line to be more complete. Bought the unabridged version and would give it much higher rating.

Great story! Great performance!

Great story! It kept me guessing until the very end. The performance was great. Usually I’m jerked out of the story by an annoying voice, but that didn’t happen with this reader.

Travel 5 Hours Into the Future . . . Instantly

This one is FAST. We're talking TIME TRAVEL fast. Turn the thing on, start listening to the exceptional voice of the narrator, and WHAM! - next thing you know you're 5 hours in the future, with very little idea of how you got there besides a slightly elevated heart rate, a slightly sore rear end and a somewhat dazed appreciation for the way this Coben guy managed to make you keep reading page after page without even thinking about the passing of time. OVERALL RATING: 5 solid stars. NARRATOR: Creme of the crop - 5 stars. STORY/PLOT: He took a little creative license, but he used it well - 5 stars. PACE: breakneck - 5 stars. CHARACTERS: 3 1/2 stars (OK, so they're not all fully fleshed out characters, but who cares? You just want to find out what happens to them next). DIALOGUE: Clever, well-written and extremely zippy. Excellent dialogue is the propellant that makes this book go so fast - 5 stars. WILL I REMEMBER THE PLOT OR CHARACTERS A YEAR FROM NOW? It's a bit disposable, not terribly deep, so maybe not. But in a thriller that isn't so bad: I figure I can enjoy it all over again in a year or so because I'll have forgotten what happens. WILL I READ OTHER BOOKS BY THIS AUTHOR? Absolutely -- he's got a new raving fan, and I can't wait to see how he's going to top this one.

Good Escapist Read

Okay. I liked this story. The soft, even paced narration by Steven Weber was appropriate for the hero's experiences and situation. I definitely would read/listen to other stories by Harlan Corben. However, I think that getting the unabridged version really is a disadvantage. After finishing the audio, I looked at the hardcopy of the book at our local bookstore. I discovered that you really lose some of the nice color and flavor that, though not imperative for listening purposes, just rounds out the enjoyment of the tale.

Excellent Narration!

Enjoyable story, quick pace, but the stand out here is definitely the narration by actor Steven Weber. His intonation and urgency really drove this book for me. I wish he could read all of these productions!!

Yeow!

What an outstanding book! As another reviewer said, it grabs your attention from the first word. I'd recommend this to anyone who asks. The surprise for me, however, was finding another excellent narrator! I'm a Scott Brick fan (who isn't?), but I've be remiss if I didn't say that Steven Weber is in Scott's class, both are simply outstanding. Both men have a wonderful way of making the book come alive and have you sitting on the edge of your seat, even at 70 MPH. If you're looking for something for a cross-country flight, listen to this book, but tell EVERYONE about it!

Really Liked This Book

What did you love best about Tell No One?

My husband and l listened to it on a road trip and it kept us both engrossed wanting to know what happened next. I like this book and think it would be a great read, as well.

What about Steven Weber’s performance did you like?

Steven Weber did an awesome job narrating and keeping the voices distinct. Love how he was able to change his voice for each character, especially the females, without sounding cheesy. I would definitely read another book he narrates just to listen to him.

Twice as good

Great! Weber was the perfect narrator. I listened twice and enjoyed it just as much the second time.
