Publisher's summary

For Dr. David Beck, the loss was shattering. And every day for the past eight years, he has relived the horror of what happened. The gleaming lake. The pale moonlight. The piercing screams. The night his wife was taken. The last night he saw her alive.

Everyone tells him it's time to move on, to forget the past once and for all. But for David Beck, there can be no closure. A message has appeared on his computer, a phrase only he and his dead wife know. Suddenly Beck is taunted with the impossible - that somewhere, somehow, Elizabeth is alive.

Beck has been warned to tell no one. And he doesn't. Instead, he runs from the people he trusts the most, plunging headlong into a search for the shadowy figure whose messages hold out a desperate hope. But already Beck is being hunted down. He's headed straight into the heart of a dark and deadly secret - and someone intends to stop him before he gets there.

A fun escape

Tell No One is full of twists and turns (although I must agree with a previous reviewer that the ending was a bit odd). This is an entertaining listen. Coben keeps the story moving with enough intrigue to keep you listening, yet the story has just the right amount of technical detail and character development to draw the reader/listener in.

Steven Weber is a good choice for the narration. His pace is good, and his voice is easy to listen to.

If you are looking for a high-action mystery that is easy to listen to, enjoyable and will keep you guessing, then Tell No One is just what the Doctor ordered.

Entertaining

This was entertaining although I got a little bogged down in all of the details of the ending plot. I have seen that it has been made into a French film. Not bad but not as good as Hold Tight!

Escape from Reality

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It has an amazing story line to it and makes you think. It has you on the edge of your seat like a great movie would!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Tell No One?

For me, I'd have to say the ending. I won't give it away but it made me scream. I just couldn't believe it!

What does Steven Weber bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

You will get a different tone of voice that you don't get from actually reading the book.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

I have no idea. There are so many great tag lines that could be used.

Any additional comments?

This book is just amazing. It was the first book I read from Harlan Coben when I was 10. I'm now 20 and STILL love this book!!

A Great Listen

Interestingly enough, the reviews of this book hit both sides of the street. I really enjoyed the book. No deep thinking, no hidden adjenda, just WOW, what's going to happen next. I think it's an excellent listen. Supurb plot development that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Harlan Coben is noted for his intricate plots. This book is no exception. Get into this book and you'll take the long way home just to hear more.

Interesting Thriller

I read this book the first time in 2011 but since I remember nothing about it, it felt like a new story.

I only gave it 2 stars back then, but I think it deserves a solid 3 if not 4; I was along for the ride from the very first word! I thought it was a very suspenseful and interesting thriller.

On the negative side, the story felt a little dated with references to dial-up modems and beepers and research in libraries on microfiche, and a particularly strange scenario when a woman changes her mind about boarding a transatlantic flight and just finds an exit to leave the airport... but it was written in 2001 so you have to give it a little leeway.

This was an abridged version and while I liked that it was short and to the point with no extra fluff, I think some crucial fluff was left out because information seemed to come out of nowhere: the existence of a safety deposit box and the link to the name of a witness to a crash for example; I felt lost a times.

Tell No One

Any additional comments?

As always, Coben does an AMAZING job on adding unexpected twits and events. I couldn't put it down. The narrator was great too, speaking and changing his tone according to the mood of the story at the moment. You should read it for sure!

Also wish to get more Coben books hopefully. I know a new book, the second book in the Micky Bolitar series has been released resonantly, Coben told me, at least in the US, so looking forwards in seeing it here too. Also, while I'm here, I'd like to make a request. If possible, would it be possible for Audible to have the first four Myron Bolitar books as well?

Any Harlan Coben book is worth your time

What made the experience of listening to Tell No One the most enjoyable?

I don't know how Harlen Coben does it. He has written ALOT of books--and they all have different characters and take place in different settings. But his ability to build a storyline is amazing. His plots are intricate, but not so complicated you get lost. His books keep you totally engaged--like you'll sit in your driveway to finish listening to a chapter. He also keeps things realistic--sometimes a little dark, but he usually finishes his story with realism and an ending you're content with. He is definitely one of my top 10 authors, up there with Lawrence Block, Walter Mosley and Otto Penzler. And Scott Brick is a great narrator who performs all of his books.
