Wonderful as ever

If you are a Ma Ramotswe fan, you will be more than satisfied with this book. Lecat's narration is wonderful to listen to and the trials and tribulations of the Botswana characters is true to the previous books by McCall Smith.

Perfect in Audiobook!

I have yet to find an Alexander McCall Smith series that I haven’t dearly loved. I’ve purchased this series in audiobook form from Audible, and the narration is absolutely wonderful! I feel truly transported to lovely Botswana! The No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency series is like the very best therapy available. If I listen to the audiobooks in the background while I do household chores or drive, I find myself happy and smiling and calm through them. Yes, there are troubles in the world, but most can be overcome or at least mitigated by a cup of tea and a thoughtful meditation while watching the sunset. I love the gentle humanity of these books. After listening to Mma Ramotswe, the balance of the world always seems tilted toward the good. My chores get completed, yet I feel relaxed and happy, as if I’ve just returned from vacation in Botswana!

Sweet read!

I’ve enjoyed the entire series thus far and this is one of the sweetest yet—I love being transported to a different time & place—it’s wonderful to be able to share the characters lives.

Delightful Story

I loved the narrative. This is the second book of the series that I have listened to, and it's a delight to listen to this reader.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

If I had the time, this would be a pleasure to listen to in one sitting.

beautiful prose

This series of books is my happy place. Okay, I've never been to Africa and might very likely be shocked if I were to go, but to think that a place like Mma Ramotswe's Botswana exists just makes me feel better, especially at the end of a long and hard day. Oh please, Mr. MCall Smith, give us more.

as usual...wonderful

These books have brought me many hours of relaxation, while keeping me curious about each character. I usually listen to hardcore thrillers, but when I see one of these out, I am so happy. The characters are all one of a kind, and I know them well, that's what makes this series an old friend for me. Characters don't change from book to book, they are who they are, just like we are...
