Ok

Overall it's not bad. Personally I didn't find the investigation/mystery of the shooters very interesting. Veteran detectives couldn't find the little clues to piece together the mystery but this beat cop was able to find out everything fairly easily. The dog point of view was a little over the top and repetitive but was a cool touch. It's worth listening to but not sure I would spend my credits on it

Sit, down, stay!

A fine read! Learned a lot about police dogs’ training. Main character well described. Believable and had real charm. Other characters described pretty well. Great plot. Interesting following the progression of the mystery, but mostly it was the story of man and dog that I found the best reason for recommending this book to dog lovers first and mystery fans second.

one of the authors best works. if dog lover or not is a great plot even if I guessed who done it early on.
narration also well done. could say more but 1 finger pecking on tiny screen is AGGRAVATING.

Engaging throughout

This was a great story from start to finish, a good mystery and a tug at the heartstrings to boot. This was my first Robert Crais book, but it won't be my last.

Hope This Becomes Its Own Series

There is not a lot of action until the very end, but the story was interesting and kept me engaged. I like the way the characters were developed. I usually don't like books with multiple POVs and especially wouldn't think I would like a dog's POV, but in this book it worked well in my opinion. I'm definitely invested in both Scott and Maggie. Hope there are more Scott & Maggie books to come.

Kept me engaged and I loved that the dog had a voice. Author seems to know dogs.

suspect intense book

loved this book I know Robert Crais books and this one slipped through my hands. I found it and now I know he is one of the best writers.

Another canine book that uses alpha

A detective story that includes the inner thoughts of a dog. The overuse of the labels “alpha” and “pack” were distracting and annoying to this science based dog trainer. This is clearly fiction, but I fear the general public will believe this is how dogs really think and respond. I have read many dog-in-a-detective story books. This was meh.

Brilliant

Mr. Crais is brilliant! His syory lines and characters are unsurpassed in my opinion. I am a huge fan of his work!
