Publisher's summary

America is in the thrall of a full-scale socioeconomic breakdown. The stock market plummets, hyperinflation destroys the value of the dollar, and the population, unprepared for hardship, panics. Practically overnight, the high-technology infrastructure and chains of supply collapse, and wholesale rioting and looting grip every city. Law enforcement, transportation, electricity, fuel, and medical supplies are all in the past now, as the country staggers beneath its own weight. Lawless bands of killers roam the countryside, leaving devastation in their wake and now that the government is gone, the Constitution is at stake. Who will carry on?

In this chaotic and dangerous environment, a few families and individuals, bound together by their faith, skills, and foresight, must struggle not only to survive day by day but defend themselves against a new and vicious predator - their fellow man.

Survivors is a shockingly realistic and lightening fast thriller about the coming implosion of America as we know it. Renowned survivalist expert James Wesley, Rawles has packed this story with the cold hard facts about how to stay alive in the face of mass riots, starvation, and anarchy. His expertise lends unforgettable, authentic detail to this season's most chilling novel. Listeners will not only be entralled, they will learn invaluable lessons on how to survive the coming collapse.

Interesting story

I enjoyed the overall story. Being from Southeast Texas, I was very disappointed in the narrator not getting the correct pronunciations of our communities(example: Anahuac is pronounced An-a-whack).

Another great book from the Master Survivalist

Looses a little momentum in the details at times. I've been to Belize and I wouldn't count on it as a safe haven. Enjoyed the presentation.

Worth listening to over and over!

Well-crafted story - I have listened to it at least 5 or 10 times and am going to listen to it again, so much detail.

Great opening scene of Andy Lane, soldier, in Hadji maket shop.

Reader's accents for different characters and his acting - SUPERB!

Appreciated the discussion of financial maters, US debt, and currency collapse.

Good warning re Lars & Beth Lane almost starting too late to assemble stores.

Lars' war experience - riveting! His gratitude to his wife and God for recovery and will to live - touching!

Appreciated discussion of numerous practical aspects.

Loved the examples of hard working people such as the admirable family from New Orleans...Jerome, Sheila, Emily, Tyree. Heartbreaking death in the family, decision to accumulate seeds and praying for direction of where to go - great story and example.

Great story about Shadrack Phelps - 17 year old orphan and his companions Liked that he was taught how to field dress, cook venison, and other practical skills. Kindness of Diego Avilar - true example of manliness.

When boys and young men are trying to figure out what it means to be a man, very much appreciated real examples in the story of real men.

An example of a bad man is the leader of the gang, La Fuerza.

Villains in story also good - La Fuerza and self-appointed President.

Nice love story between Blanca and Ian. Ian should have acted on his first impulse to rescue his daughter. Like Adam, he let his wife persuade him to a course that resulted in the death of his daughter and parents, but as head of the household, he bore the ultimate responsibility for the final decision.

LOVED the foresight of billionaire Martin Elroy and his wisdom in employing the chemical engineer, Dr. Ricardo Lopez.

This is a very worth while read - entertaining plus you learn a lot!

I'm not a christian, but I wish I was.

There are a lot of christian undertones in the novel, but you don't doubt the good men and women of faith. If you're a liberal, you'll probably hate it. If your a republican, you might not like it as you should. Federalists and libertarians, will love the book.

I'm "reading" the novels backward in order, and it doesn't seem to matter. It's a great series so far, can't wait to read the first book.

You're going to love this series!!

several books written about a huge worldwide collapse but all books run almost simultaneously. New characters, previous characters weaving in and out makes the story feel new and familiar at the same time!

Could have been Better

Would you listen to Survivors again? Why?

Unlike Patriots that I listen to three times, I am probably good listening to Survivors once. It is slow getting started and bounces back and forth between characters way too much. I did like the additional background information on some of the characters from the Patriots book, but some just seem to be boring background filler. Still entertaining enough for a credit.
