Publisher's summary

Harry Blackstone Copperfield Dresden is a very powerful wizard and a dedicated private eye. He is also a wise cracking trouble magnet. Fueled by a tempest of guilt, sleep deprivation, malnutrition, bad temper and frankly awful personal grooming. Harry is hurtling toward oblivion. According to Harry that is nobody's business but his own.

The Winter Queen of Faerie manipulates him into accepting a case to solve a murder and stop a war between the courts of Summer and Winter that could have literally earth shattering consequences. His own soul is up for grabs. Dresden must dig deep to discover that at time a willingness to accept a little help from your friends, be they a cub pack of werewolves, old loves in sheep's clothing, or a battalion of pizza loving dewdrop fairies, is a very good thing.

Spellbinding!

I love it when James Marsters makes mouth/swallowing noises. He’s a very talented vocalist and each sound effect is delivered with skill and precision. His character voices are so distinct and unique it’s difficult to believe they all come from the same man. As Kevin Conroy will always be my Batman, James Marsters will always be my Harry Dresden… and Murphy, and Thomas, and Mab, and Tootoo, and Mouse.

Another wild adventure of overcoming all the odds!

I’ve read this series several times and love each book every time! This time was no different, I enjoyed the story and character development. Harry Dresden is my favorite fictional character! Great performance by James Marsters yet again! Thanks Jim for writing this book and all the others.

Love this series now I'm collecting the audios

Love this series. Now I'm collecting the audio versions. The narrator was perfect, he varied his voice for all the characters and his voice was perfect for Harry Dresden!

Welcome to Faire!

Jim Butcher hits his stride with Summer Knight and introduces us to the remainder of his core of main characters for the near future. The Knights of Faire have been brought into the picture and Dresden has to solve the murder of one of them. All while staying in the Queens of Faire's good graces and out of the clutches of his godmother who wishes to turn him into one of her hounds. If he fails the world of Faire becomes a battlefield between the Summer Court and the Winter Court, and the world as we know it has a massive weather shift. The stakes have never been higher, nor the task more daunting.

Butcher brings back Harry Dresden with a bang, and delivers the crowning moment of his series up until this point. Everything seems to come together in this work and truly shows the world Butcher is trying to create. He finds his stride and makes this work shine.

James Marsters is back and continues to show why he's the voice of Harry Dresden. His work on the Dresden files is truly fantastic and he doesn't let up for a moment in Summer Knight.

Good story, okay performance

Runes and ruins are not the same. I could see it being an error a few times, but its constant and having done several books, the reader should know better by now.

Great book in an Enthralling Series!

I really enjoyed this book and have become hooked on the series. I thought I might be dissappointed in the narration after listening to the Codex Alera series first (Kate Reading is my FAVORITE reader), but James Marsters does a great job.

Unfortunately,I just realized that audible does not have books 5-7 available, which is extremely frustrating.
