Publisher's summary

America’s worst nightmare has just become a brutal reality. The most unlikely terrorist enemy of all now holds a knife against the country’s throat. With both diplomatic and conventional military options swept from the table, the president calls upon Navy SEAL turned Secret Service agent Scot Harvath to disable a brilliantly orchestrated conspiracy intended to bring the United States to its knees.

Teamed with beautiful Russian Intelligence agent Alexandra Ivanova and a highly trained CIA paramilitary detachment, Harvath embarks on an adrenaline-fueled search that spans the world - and leads to a final, deadly showdown on American soil, with a lethal and sinister enemy from the past.

Take another thrill ride with Scot Harvath.

Thor and Guidall

I’ll listen to every book they ever do together because their worst book is great.

Great book. Prefer earlier reader

Great book. But the reader was marginal. Accent was distracting and voices were all the same. For $30 a book, go back to the first reader!

Sorry that I can not continue

This Scott Harvath series is awesome. I can not continue with George Guidall as narrator. Again, stories are great.

Fantastic story, terrible reader

Brad Thor is one of my favorite authors and, as always, delivered an amazing story with this book. George Guidall, though, is horribly dry and monotone. I have heard obituaries read with more life and gusto than this. There is a section early in the story where the reader describes the main villain bludgeoning somebody to death with a fire poker. Based on the tone of voice alone, you would think he just read the five day weather forecast, not a brutal murder. I hope Armand Schultz is brought back to re-read this book and all the other Thor/Guidall audiobooks. If you can stomach the reader, the story is fantastic.

Good Story... not sure I liked the narrator

I really enjoyed the story. It was well written and kept you engaged the whole time. I was just not super impressed with the narration, found it hard to relate to the characters through this narrator. Will try the next book and see if it improves.

A great story.

It took a few chapters to get used to the change in narrators but that was because I was accustomed to the previous narrator. a great book and good installment in the Harvath series.

Another RELEVANT masterpiece by Thor!

Especially where we are with Russia today, this story fits seamlessly & is entirely imaginable!

Another Great thriller

Great story, very believable and realistic
Continually wondering what would happen next
Often scenes of nuclear disaster hit too close to home

More like George Gui Dull!!

Would you listen to State of the Union again? Why?

I way prefer Armand Schultz in this series of books! Scott is in his 30's but Guidall makes him sound like he's in his 60's! No good for me! I will read the actuall books that he narrates and only listen to the ones narrated by Schultz...

How could the performance have been better?

Armand Schultz
