I love espionage, legal, and detective thrillers but listen to most genres. Very frequent reviews. No plot spoilers! Please excuse my typos!
During the last 18 months I have purchased over 200 novels in both the Kindle ebook format and the Audible audiobook format from Amazon using the Whispersync for Voice option. In every case the purchase price for both formats combined was less than the cost of an Audible credit (which is $10.56 in the Platinum Annual plan to which I subscribe). Indeed, more than half of the books cost $4 for both formats combined and none cost more than $7. Spy for Hire cost less than $7 which is slightly less than the $7.34 price for the Audible book alone.
Many of the books I purchased using Whidpersync for Voice are solid 5 star mystery/thrillers. Spy for Hire, the third book in the Mark Sava series, does not quite reach 5 stars but it is still an excellent and very worthwhile espionage thriller. Mark Sava is an ex-CIA agent who now subcontracts for the agency. He lives in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. This suspense/thriller is set in the countries around the Caspian Sea and in the Middle East. It involves the kidnapping of the 2 year old heir to the throne of Bahrain. Action and suspense are near constant. Christopher Lane's narration is superb!
