Good Book - Good Listen

I had this sitting in my Wish List for a long while. The cover looked "cheesy" to me, but the story and ratings interested me. One day I just downloaded it. It turned out to be a really good story. If you can get passed the first few chapters, the story really takes off from there. I was surprised and very glad I stuck with it.

Heat and a hot story too!

I got this book a while ago and decided I couldn’t listen to it. I think it was on the heels of some great dual POV duet narrations and this just didn’t grab my attention. Recently I decided to give it a second chance and I found it to be fascinating. The narration was spot on, Karen White nailed it! The story was wonderful. I found it well written and extremely well developed. The one thing I could complain about I won’t because to do so would mean this was meant to be suspense-mystery instead of romance. This book was hot and sexy but sex was never the driving force.

Was it worth it? Oh yes!!!

LOL Moments

This was an okay story with laugh out loud moments. Not being anywhere near law enforcement I still feel fairly positive that the FBI would not send a male operative (?) to stay with the female they are protecting. (In the same hotel room? Really?). That little gaff led to the hotness as it was intended to, but - that also could have happened had the author not made such a huge mistake. I know this is not police procedural, but come on.

It was cute, and funny in places; a light listen.

Suspenseful and cute.

I liked it alot. It kept me curious. I will read another by this author. The narrator definitely added to the story.

Something About You

This one was so good and had me breaking out in giggles often. Cameron is a US Attorney in Chicago and while staying in a hotel had very inconsiderate patrons on next door who keep her up most of the night until she finally calls down to the desk. When security comes up to investigate they find a dead body...and she is the only witness to the man who left the room. When the FBI shows up at the door who is there but the man who called her out 3 years ago and blames her for him ending up in BFE but he is now in charge of this investigation. Turns out she is in the sites of the killer...especially when the mole finds out about her...yes we know about it early...but that makes it all the more special and intriguing but this one is great!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would. This is a fun action book with romance thrown in. You can relate to the characters in the story because they go through some of the same struggles of normal everyday people. When it comes to love in this book Cameron and Jack take it to a whole new league.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Something About You?

When Jack wouldn't leave Cameron after she was shot. Even though it ment letting the shooter get away he wouldn't leave her

Which scene was your favorite?

Umm the whole book. It was so good that it had me capture from the beginning.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, it is one of those that if you try to put it down you will end up staying up all night to find out what happens to the characters.

Would you consider the audio edition of Something About You to be better than the print version?

This book came alive by the narrator. Reading it would have been good, but listening to it was great.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All of the characters were well developed and likeable. The author's style reminded me of Suzanne Brockmann, whom I LOVE!

What about Karen White’s performance did you like?

She was able to depict men as well as women effortlessly. Sometimes you have to get use to a narrator, or they will have trouble with one gender or the other. Karen White was the reason this book got 5 stars and not 4. I will now check out other books she has narrated.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I loved spending time with these characters. It all came together for me in this book.

Any additional comments?

I really like the sense of humor in the book. These were not one dimensional characters. I could see where the author could write a story about each one, and I would like that. Truly an enjoyable listen!!

One of my favorites, Listened many times

This was my first Julie James book, I read it and then bought the Audio book, I have since listened to this and the others in the series as my go to when I am waiting for my credits.

To submit this it seems as though I have to be more wordy. Believe I have said enough about the book without being TOO WORDY, so thought I would make my feelings about the rating requirements clear!

FBI- fabulous, beautiful and intelligent.

I really enjoyed this storyline and especially the performance. Amazingly Smart, sexy and passionate lead characters, and funny supporting cast.
