The Enchanted Village is abuzz when the old Tavistock house finally goes up for sale. Darcy's friend, Curecrafter Cherise Goodwin, is hoping she will have the winning bid on the home, but Darcy can't shake the feeling that something bad is about to happen - and her magical instincts are usually right.
Sure enough, while Darcy and Cherise are looking at the property, they discover real estate agent Raina Gallagher stone-cold dead on the floor. Clutched in her hand is a gemstone amulet, and on the wall above her is a large red A. While Raina has no shortage of enemies, there's also a dark legend about the house itself. To track down the killer, Darcy must unlock the secrets of both the deceased and the estate - and she'll need to act fast because revenge is a deal that never closes....

Not much of a reader but love to listen
The narrator does a great job and the book is well written. I listened to this book in one sitting.
All of the characters were well developed all through the series. I listened to the whole series one right after the other. It is such a great listen.
Proud book worm!
Once again another wonderfully, witty story from Heather Blake!!! She's become one of my favorite authors!
Again Darcy, helping a friend house hunt, finds another corpse. This time it is the realtor that ends up dead and Darcy needs to solve the murder. Her Aunt now runs for a seat on the town counsel? Mr. McCobb is suspect once again and sleeping with..... wooottt....not gonna give that away!
Glenda is once again involved....but....wow....Glenda and her end up....sorta okay with each other? They of course snark at each other but....interesting.
More twists and turns to keep you going....great read!
I love Darcy and the gang. They have a spectacular sense of humor. The evolving story of her and Nick makes me smile. The mystery was spot on and kept me intrigued the whole time!
Heather makes the best books about non scary witches and mysteries.
They are always filled with turns you don't see coming and the reader is awesome. Nice voice.
At this point I am invested in the series. I want to see Darcy and Nick grow as a couple and find out what comes next with kooky aunt Ve. I love all the crafters she has befriended in town, getting their backstories as the series progresses. This book takes more of a turn in things and we learn about Darcy and Harper’s history.
The mystery here felt a bit darker than previous books. There are far more sinister things afoot than expected. There are several breadcombs that drop in this book and I expect will be nabbed in the next book. I am dying to know who the elder is and when Darcy will find out about Missy/Mel being a familiar.
The whole book, as usual, is from Darcy’s POV. This limits us to her knowledge, it kind of makes you a part of solving the mystery with her. This one was pretty obvious from the start, but the getting there was entertaining as always.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Coleen Marlo, who has either gotten better or my ears are used to her. Probably a little of both! She does have a very brisk pace, which I prefer. I like her but of sass for Darcy and she handles character voice changes very well. So many characters to keep track of, it is a wonder she keeps them all separate and consistent!
I am ready for the next book, unfortunately, it is not ready for me! I so hate waiting for books to release on audio. I will strive for patience, but no promises!
Wishcrafter Darcy Merriweather is earning the nickname as a grim reaper when she discovers yet another dead body. Now that is the official snoop for the Elder she needs to find why Raina, the reigning realtor of Magickal Realty, has been killed in cold blood.
This village never allows a dull moment and Heather Blake's colorful storytelling enthralls you straight through. The time sped by like it was nothing: the auditory equivalent of a page turner!
The narrator had an odd nasal tone at times that could be a little distracting but the story always hooks you again.
