Publisher's summary

An incredible national security secret, more than two decades old.

An intrepid, tireless reporter, seeking the truth.

A CIA hunter-killer group, who will stop at nothing to silence the story.

This is the book you've been looking for: a deep, dark conspiracy that should delight those who loved the Jason Bourne movies, as well as fans of authors Vince Flynn, Tom Clancy, and Stephen Hunter. You won't believe what happens when free speech slams into the messy realities of national security.

Meet Nick Woods, a former Marine Scout Sniper, who used to be one of our country's greatest operatives.

Meet Allen Green, a ballsy reporter in his fifties, who's desperate to break the biggest story since Watergate.

When the book begins, Nick is in hiding, using an alias, and believes he'll never be found. Allen is opposed to all violence and believes he will never use a gun against someone.

Both couldn't be more wrong....

Sold Out is an epic, fast-paced story that will leave you breathless, waiting to see what happens next. It's also the first book in the spectacular Nick Woods series (fourth book to land in Spring, 2016).

The Nick Woods series has climbed to the top of the charts on Amazon -- and remained there for more than three years. It's also been picked up by Audible.com for a multi-book, audio deal.

A good, believable, solid story.

Looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

WOW!! A great thriller.

Thanks to a very recent review of one of the Audible listeners I follow I purchased this book. It blew me away! Nick Hunter is an ex-Marine sniper no one should want to cross, yet someone killed his sniper spotter in Afghanistan and then murdered his wife. He is out for retribution and will kill anyone who gets in his way. There is lots of action and suspense.

Jay Snyder narrates and does a superb job.

VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Excellent read

Found book to be intriguing, well paced, great characters. Was not sure I would enjoy, am seasoned female, but soon found myself completely involved. Looking forward to next in series.

TRY THIS OUT - you will not regret it

Where does Sold Out rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is right up there with Mark Greaney writing Gray Man and Clancy books.

This is a solid start to what is an excellent series. Give the author chance to develop the character, give the story time and you'll be rewarded.

The lead character is not like any character you're used to but by the end of the book you will want more and you'll want to share a beer with the guy.

The pacing is fast, no unnecessary verbiage. This is definitely an action book but it doesn't rely on overly graphic fight scenes or language.

Expect to see a LOT from this author in the coming years.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Well, the lead, of course!

Which scene was your favorite?

I cannot reveal any scene without potentially spoiling the story.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

This isn't your Dad's action movie.

If you like Greaney or Woods this book for you...

Would you listen to Sold Out again? Why?

If I didn't have anything new waiting I probably would. It's a very good book and easy on the ears with Jay Snyder narrating.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sold Out?

If I answer this it will spoil it for others!

What about Jay Snyder’s performance did you like?

I REALLY enjoy listening to Jay Snyder. I did have a hard time though not picturing Court Gentry in Nick Woods place. Very similar kind of stories. This did not take away from the book though, if anything I think I liked it quicker.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I think I did, one day anyway. Then turned around and bought #2 in the series

Any additional comments?

This is the kind of book I search endlessly for. It takes off right from the first page and there is nonstop action right up until the end. The action is believable, the heartbreaking moments feel real and the anger is palpable. The main characters are likable and the antagonists are very unlikable. You can pretty much guess how it's going to turn out but it's the HOW that makes the ending spectacular.
I highly recommend this book.

Simple but Good

No crazy twists, no surprises just a straight forward action story. Likable characters, typical villains. No fancy writing, simple and fast. This book or story won't tax your brain trying to keep track of characters, plots or twists but it will keep you listening along to see how it all plays out.

Mark Greany he is not

I spent years proofreading my kids' essays and assignments. In their first few university assignments, each of them added too much irrelevant detail and used words that weren't the best choice for what they were trying to express. They also unnecessarily repeated themselves, as though they weren't sure they were making their point adequately. That's exactly how this book felt to me; maybe future books will be better. Jay Snyder's narration, always excellent, was the only highlight.

Like Rapp? Appreciate Gentry? Love NickWoods

Take one part Mitch Rapp; add some Woodward and Bernstein; then equal parts Cort Gentry and Luke Stone. Toss in some Rambo and spice the dialogue. Now you've got Stan Mitchell's Nick Woods.

"Sold Out" is a well-written, creative political intrigue. It has all the parts required for the genre formula, but a riveting narrative, excellent performance and well-crafted dialogue makes for a really well-written book and performance.

Jay Snyder is able to deliver multiple voices, maintained throughout the book. He's not a George Guidall or Dick Hill, but is definitely close in class. Snyder's voice characterizations are realistic and not cartoons.

Mitchell's plot is intricate and entwined nicely with several subplots. Woods is the character-flawed protagonist. The rogue government agent antagonists, and of course the evil Southern Senator, are a little close to stereotypical, but the characters are viable and believable.

For political intrigue and spy novel fans, Nick Woods deserve space on the hard drive or a place on the bookshelf.

Yup, it's a good conspiracy story

I'm not sure it matches up to Jason Bourne, but this is a very good conspiracy story of how "they" can come in, take all your data, plant false info on your computer, and condemn you to the judicial system where you have already been tried, convicted, and sentenced by media.

Nick Woods is a good strong character to enter the genre, so I hope to see more of him. If you like this genre, this is a good addition.
