Kept Me Interested

Would you listen to Snake Skin again? Why?

Not likely because I rarely ever listen to a book again. Only Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp series have I done that.

What did you like best about this story?

That Lucy screwed up and made bad choices like the rest of us but was still a great heroine.

Have you listened to any of Lauren Roth’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have no idea if I've heard her before but I liked her narration

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Somewhat. It kept me interested. The personal versus professional obligations made an interesting addition to the mystery and adventure.

Solid cop thriller

I enjoyed having a vulnerable but strong female protagonist, there aren't enough of those in this genre. It is a well-written story with fun twists and turns. The narrator could have put a little more energy into the general narration, and there are multiple mispronunciations of words. But overall she was easy to listen to, and did a good job. I'm looking forward to listening to the next book in the series

Not a Complete Narration

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

At Chapter 7 the narration stopped and received a message stating I could continue the book by reading it. Well that's OK but I paid for a full narration.

Would you be willing to try another book from C. J. Lyons? Why or why not?

Yes

How did the narrator detract from the book?

Wouldn't know

Was looking for a new series, this is NOT it.

Any additional comments?

Not interesting enough. I found her character kind of boring and the excitement/mystery aspect lacking-no surprises here. I have read other series(a fan of murder/mystery)where I wasn't in love with the first book, but there was some sort of hook that made me want to continue the series to completion. Not the case here. The narration really annoyed me, which did not add to the experience either.

tiring non stop

non stop 48 hrs with more twist and turns trying to cover thin story line. Plese editors understand a Flock is not a revolver. sometimes more. action and non stop superheriocs is not better just tiring for the reader committed to finishing the book long after the mystery is solved.

New author for mek

I used ti be an avid reader but then got sick. Its harder for me to concentrate due to my meds as they make me sleepy. This is only the 2nd book I have read in about 7 months where as before it was about a book every 2 weeks. Having said that this book held my interest. Between dr visits and falling asleep it was intetesting enough for me to carry around my tablet to listen to it. The protaganist is a women who doesn't always follow protocols and seems to wear her heart on her sleeve. The author brought in enough of the family to make it interesting but didn't ram them down my throat. I think it was a pretty decent book 1 and I wil be interested in continuing on with the series.
