What begins as a snake hunt leads Cabrillo onto the trail of a far more lethal quarry - a deranged militant and his followers who plan to unleash the devastating power of nature itself against all who oppose them.

i would expect no less from the oregon files! what an awesome book. if youre looking for realistic, dont listen to or read fiction books! cant wait for another juan cabrio adventure!
Baby Boomer in Raleigh NC. Faves include James Lee Burke, CJ Box, Baldacci, Flynn, Child, DeMille, Crais, Connolly, Thor, Coes, L'amour. Average two books/week.
It would be sacrilegious to even think any literary character could "be better than" Dirk Pitt; but since both sprang from the mind & pen of Clive Cussler. I have read all the Dirk Pitts and almost all the Juan Cabrillo "Oregon Files" and ...... I at least "like Juan" as much as I like Dirk. ... Juan and his Oregon crew and their High Adventures are in the Dirk Pitt VS Super Villain mode with the classic Cussler historical link. YES, these are "formula stories". So what?
I strongly recommend Juan to any Dirk fan who has not checked him out. And Scott Brick is Scott Brick. If I had a nickle for every Scott Brick audiobook I've listened to I would have a lot of nickles.
I enjoy action fiction is much as the next guy. However there has to be some some blunts of connection to science and what is technologically possible. This ain't happening here. This has all of the usual action fictiontropes, somewhat hackneyed. But the thing that made this hard to finish for me was the silly pseudoscience.
this was another great story that I just could not stop listening too. I was so captivated, I found myself taking longer routes home to keep listening to it.
