Publisher's summary

Six years have passed since Jake Fisher watched Natalie, the love of his life, marry another man. Six years of hiding a broken heart by throwing himself into his career as a college professor. Six years of keeping his promise to leave Natalie alone, and six years of tortured dreams of her life with her new husband, Todd.

But six years haven’t come close to extinguishing his feelings, and when Jake comes across Todd’s obituary, he can’t keep himself away from the funeral. There he gets the glimpse of Todd’s wife he’s hoping for...but she is not Natalie. Whoever the mourning widow is, she’s been married to Todd for almost two decades, and with that fact, everything Jake thought he knew about the best time of his life - a time he has never gotten over - is turned completely inside out.

As Jake searches for the truth, his picture-perfect memories of Natalie begin to unravel. Mutual friends of the couple either can’t be found or don’t remember Jake. No one has seen Natalie in years. Jake’s search for the woman who broke his heart, who lied to him, soon puts his very life at risk as it dawns on him that the man he has become may be based on a carefully constructed fiction.

Harlan Coben once again delivers a shocking novel that deftly explores the power of past love and the secrets and lies that such love can hide.

Harlan Coben is my FAVORITE

As with all of Harlan Coben's other books, this one does not disappoint. If you like Mr. Coben's other books, you will like this one. And, as always, Scott Brick does a great job narrating.

Keeps you hooked, but...

Any additional comments?

It's one of those stories that hooks you and with a really well done hook, but then the explanation doesn't do it justice. Think Lost the TV show. Overall a good listen but left me feeling unsatisfied.

Enjoyed it and didn't disappoint

I have quickly become a Harlan Coben fan, in collaboration with Scott Brick. This was a very interesting book and really and truly, as always, the end is never what you anticipate.... Loved it

Reader too dramatic. Story pretty good.

Story was good. The reader almost ruins the book. I recommend that you check it out.

Little disappointing

Not up to HC's usual high standards! This was just okay. Not the usual hard to put down Coban book.

Six Years is a Page Turner

Loved this novel. Fast paced, a page turner. Couldn't read it fast enough. Highly recommended.

The main character..... omg

The drawn out, obsessive, “love” story was overkill. The narrator’s voice just made it worse! At least if I had read the actual book I could have mentally given a little more personality to the sound of his voice. But the long drawn out sighing and whining was horrific. It was too much.

Gripping

I found this to be a great story. Sucked me in and I couldn't let it go. The performance was superb. The story kept you wondering until the end and I found the ending quite surprising. I truly enjoyed this whole experience.

Great story. Poor narration

As usual, Coben delivers a great story but the narrator was too slow which made it boring and difficult to listen to
