I have every one of the series. The great job that Dick and his wife did in this seres, makes the books. I'm sure Like is a good narrator, but it just wasn't the same without the great personalities dick and his wife gave to the characters! Not worth the money, Sorry!
Yes, the story was very good.
VERY different from the previous books. I was a little sad at first, but the story turned out to be so good, I was not disappointed.
I love the Jack series.... I really liked this story.... I think was one of the best. Sorta comedy mystery with MOB ties. Love Love Love it. Had to sit in the car a few times just to get to a stopping point. keep them coming.
Where is Dick Hill? He's a great Harry!!
More of Jack's personal life with her first husband and more humor from Harry.
Not. Dick. Hill.
Some of the more gruesome scenes, especially ones involving a particular female character.
Average J.A. Konrath - gore, violence, dark humor.
Why do publishers/ authors feel the need to change what does not need to be changedthis is the worst book in this series . I have all the audios in this series and this is last one I listen to with this reader.
Only this series.
Dick Hill for the male voices Susie Breck for the female like in the earlier books.
I have read all of the Jack Daniels books and loved them, except for this one. It just didn't seem to belong to the series.
Where was the humor? The "exciting" scenes were too long and dragged out.
There wasn't one.
The rest of the series is great, fast-paced and funny. Just don't waste your time or money on this one.
I didn't realize this wasn't actually a story about Jack Daniels and the narrator gave her a southern accent! But the storyline was good nonetheless.
“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” - Dr. Seuss
I was skeptical about this book at the beginning ... particularly over the idea of naming characters after booze. This book IS quite different than the earlier JD books - we see a lot more of the "bad guys" and less of the usual Jack and her Scooby gang.
Luke Daniels is working at a huge disadvantage as a narrator following up Dick Hill who narrated not just one or two, but the bulk of the series thus-far. Mr. Daniels did a good job, and I think having more Tequila and less Jack helped.
Chronologically this book takes place prior to book 6 though it is unclear how long before that. In all honesty, I wish it had come out earlier in the series as I think overall that the story arch would have been served by a bit more development like this. In spite of the fact that Jack is featured less in this book, it reveals some important things about her morality and character and helps make sense of things that happen "later"in Cherry Bomb. If I were to relisten to this series I would rearrange the reading order to read them chronologically instead of in release order.
I thought I was just about done with this series, but listening to this one made me reconsider.
