Horrible Narrator - Great Story

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

That's hard to say…I might encourage this as a Kindle read only. I downloaded this with a credit to help keep me caught up with my Kindle book due to pressing work schedules.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Separation of Power?

Sadly, the most memorable moment was when I realized the narrator clearly thinks Mitch Rapp's world is a petulant one in which everyone needs to either communicate in hissed whispers or dramatically raised voices.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator's caricature depiction of the events continuously pulls me out of the story. Only the narration for "The Hunt for Red October" is worse, in which that narrator thinks all Russians sound like Boris and Natasha looking for moose and squirrel.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

As with any Mitch Rapp novel, absolutely.

Any additional comments?

I love Vince Flynn's novels (how we miss him so), but if this narrator were around for the rest of the series this might've been the only one I'd have on audiobook.

So many plot lines that piece together flawlessly.

this is my favorite book by Vince Flynn. many believable situations, realistically flawed politicians, and fun dialog . the audio book performance was excellent.

No Action for 22 Chapters; Ends well

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

This book is #5 in the series and if you want to read them in succession like I plan to, it Is required.

Would you be willing to try another book from Vince Flynn? Why or why not?

This is a great series from Vince Flynn which I plan to finish. This book was disappointing to say the least. Too much of the book is dedicated to unnecessary character or plot development. This is an action thriller series. This book contained no action in the first 22 chapters.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

This narrator was not good for this series. Considering that he is the third narrator in the first 5 books, he was far worse than Guidall(excellent) and Sullivan(very good). I hit the 3x button to expedite listening to this narrator.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointment. The first four books were fantastic. This book was slow and uneventful until the last several chapters. The narrator didn't help. His voice didn't connected with any of the characters previously established in the first four books.

Any additional comments?

The entire series should be narrated by the same narrator. Guidall is excellent and Sullivan was very good.

Worst narrator I have ever heard

This is another well written book by the late, great Vince Flynn. I have enjoyed every other book in the Mitch Rapp series, but put this one off until last because of the poor reviews of the narrator by other listeners. The other reviewers were being kind to this guy. He made every character sound like a whiny, obnoxious, petty jerk. It was painful to listen to, like fingernails on a chalk board. I have listened to over 250 books on audible, and have never written a review before. But this performance is a sacrilege to the memory of Vince Flynn. In the name of honor and decency, please hire George Guidal to redo this.

Story is great. Couldn’t finish it because of the narrator...

Huge Mitch Rapp series fan and have read and re-read (and listened to) them all several times over the years.

Apparently I forgot how bad Ken Kilban is in this book. His annoying ‘up speak’ where he puts a weird emphasis on the end of a word or a pause where there shouldn’t be one is so distracting I found myself not listening to the story. I focused on him (and getting frustrated’.

My brother reminded me that there is an abridged version of this read by Armand (probably as a result of all the bad reviews on Kilban).

Hate to buy the same book twice but I’ll be deleting this version today.

Bad performance

Too much shouting! The previous books in the series are much better at capturing Rapps stance and misdemeanor.

Narrator not the right choice.

What did you like best about Separation of Power? What did you like least?

It was hard to get passed the voice and some of the inflections of the narrator. I felt he did not understand the characters.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The narrator.

Would you be willing to try another one of Ken Kilban’s performances?

NO!

Could you see Separation of Power being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

No.

Any additional comments?

This was not one of Vince Flynn's best

Lousy presentation of this series by narrator :(

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Listening to this book was difficult voice's used for Mitch Rap sound more like a man who had rubber bands around his manly sac.. Mitch Rap's story is a macho man doing the dirty work for our freedom and safety here in the USA the voice used was wimpy and in impressive.

What did you like best about this story?

Great story! however destroyed by presentation...was a effort wishing for it to get over.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Ken Kliban?

Terrible hope this is there last Narration.........

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

I really enjoy the Vince Flynn series about Mitch Rap. I look forward to listening to more volumes
