Newly appointed CIA director Dr. Irene Kennedy is the target of an inside plot to destroy her and prematurely end the American President's term. To make matters worse, Saddam Hussein is close to entering the nuclear arms race - something Israel has vowed to stop. Another fine effort by Vince Flynn

I am relatively new to Mitch Rapp... but I have yet to find one that is disappointing. I enjoyed Ken Kilban's narration. It is worth the read...

This is NOT a Fairy Tale

What did you like best about Separation of Power? What did you like least?

The narrator is abysmal! I'm less than half-way and had to write a warning to future listeners. I should have checked the reviews before buying the book. I'm sure the plot is good, but geez!

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Haven't finished the book yet.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

100%!!!! It's a huge struggle to listen. I may wind up reading the book rather than finish listening. It's almost as if he's trying to be whimsical. His pacing is terrible. He raising his voice at the end of statements. Irene Kennedy sounds like a cackling crone. Mitch engenders no sympathy at all. And the girlfriend comes across so much as a b**** that Mitch would be better to dump her. (Although, on this point the author carries some blame. I cannot believe that what's her name--Anna?--would be so naive to think that she has a right to know national security secrets just because she's the girlfriend. The scene where she's cajoling him after his initial interview with Irene was VERY irritating.)

Any additional comments?

Again, the narrator is completely unworthy.

Gilbert Gottfried would have been a better choice

The story was excellent. The narration was beyond irritating. I am genuinely having a hard time imagining a voice that would have been worse for this book than the narrator. Maybe Bobcat Goldthwait? It may sound like hyperbole but the narration in this book made me LITERALLY cringe several times during the story. Ugh

Mitch Distracted

Any additional comments?

I think it's great that Mitch found someone to settle down with, but sensitivity and domestic tranquility isn't why I listen to Mitch Rapp stories. Anna and Donnatella were just distractions to what Rapp is all about. Point him at the enemy, cut him loose and drink in the chaos. That's Rapp. All the other stuff...well, only rhymes with Rapp.

The Narrator Ruins This Book

What made the experience of listening to Separation of Power the most enjoyable?

Another great story, but I can barely tell the characters apart with this narrator.

Any additional comments?

Please don't EVER use this narrator again.

Narrator ruined it

What did you like best about Separation of Power? What did you like least?

I honestly didn't even make it very far into the book. I usually love Mitch Rapp but the narrator makes every character sound wimpy and winy. I just deleted this book and downloaded the next Rapp book with a different narrator.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Did not finish.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Ken Kilban?

The guy who usually narrates for Vince Flynn

Did Separation of Power inspire you to do anything?

Delete it.

Any additional comments?

I would listen to it again with a new narrator.

Story was compelling

Great story but narrator's voice just doesn't match the Rapp character. Would prefer George Guidall

Good story, bad narration

Standard Mitch Rapp story. Well researched, good action, and great characters. But, this was the worst narrator I have ever heard.
