Vince Flynn once again developed a story full of twists and turns. The narrator wasn't that good.

Narrator ruined this one for me

The unfortunate part of finding a really good Narrator (George Guidall), is that others simply don't bring the story to life in the same way.
I couldn't continue this book after listening to the first two chapters.

Good story, couldn't get past incorrect emphasis

What made the experience of listening to Separation of Power the most enjoyable?

It was an entertaining story with many twists and turns

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Ken Kilban?

Nick Sullivan, like the first two books in the series!

Any additional comments?

This was a very good story, but it drove me nuts when the narrator placed emphasis in the wrong place or got all excited about a sentence that wasn't really that exciting. It didn't feel like the narrator was really in tune with what was happening in the book. Often times, I would replay it in my head the way I thought it should have sounded. He made the female head of the CIA sometimes sound whiny. And I'm pretty sure such a strong woman would never have sounded whiny at all! (And that is just one example of many!)

I have also listened to Transfer of Power and Third Option. I thought these were very well performed and maybe it is due to the fact that my image of the characters was formed in these first two books. Either way, the performance really turned me off to the series and I wasn't compelled to buy the next book in the series, as I had been previously.

Good book overall

I got use to the narrator but he definitely isnt cut out for a tough guy/ assassin's voice.

Narrator Comment

Narrator makes Mitch Rapp Sound like an emotional wreck. Always agitated with a touch of bitchiness and a higher whiny voice to boot. Not very fitting in my mind for stead fast operative.

Narrator does a good job on the rest of the characters but I just could not keep thinking about it when he portrayed the main character of the story - disappointing.

A bit boring

Not much action in this one. To much description. Needs to move faster. More action!

Main heroine

This serious is pretty good but from book to book there are small changes that don't add up for one smooth storyline. My main problem with the story was the heroine. Why in stories like these the author tries to make a strong heroine but ends up making a controlling and overbearing personality for the heroin. I see it as the "I'll never let you go Jack" mentality for the heroin.

Bad acting

Almost unlistenable. Good story, horrible narrator, the worst. Imagine Doctor Smith from the original "Lost in Space" series reading to you.

Terrible narration

It’s unfortunate but this narrator nearly ruins this terrific story. He makes the strong male figures sound pathetic and whiny.
