John C. Alsedeck and Dana Perry-Hayes adapt Henry Kluttner's short story about a Salem, Massachusetts cemetery that is teeming with large rodents who feed on the dead. The cemetery's caretakers are grave robbers who profit from the cadavers, and after the rats make off with a fresh body, they go in search of it. Daamen Krall and Christopher Duva give magnificent performances, their brogues dripping with sinister evil before portraying intense fear as their journey quickly turns sour. The spooky music cues and sound effects contribute a mysterious atmosphere that, along with Krall and Duva, makes for a chilling experience.
Unscrupulous New England body snatchers are determined to obtain a corpse - no matter where they have to go in the pursuit. Adapted from the short story by Henry Kuttner, it also stars Dana Perry-Hayes.
