Publisher's summary

Across the country women are being murdered by a killer who leaves no evidence, no fatal wounds, no signs of struggle, and no clues to a motive. They are, truly, perfect crimes. In fact, the only thing that links the victims is the man they all knew: Jack Reacher.

Critic reviews

“Reacher is one of the more interesting suspense heroes to come along in a while.” (San Antonio Express News)

“Jack Reacher, the wandering folk hero of Child’s superb line of thrillers faces a baffling puzzle in his latest adventure…a brain-teasing puzzle that gets put together piece by fascinating piece...and a central character with Robin Hood-like integrity and an engagingly eccentric approach to life.” (Publishers Weekly)

“Deeply satisfying...plan to stay up long past bedtime and do some serious hyperventilating toward the end.” (Kirkus Reviews)

Bad narrator

The narrator did not fit the story at all. I really wanted to not even listen to it, and re-searched if there was another book with a different narrator. It really threw me off and made the book less than what it should be.

An Unexpected Twist

The narrator effortlessly represents the various characters throughout the book and the twist in the storyline was delightfully unexpected.
Enjoyed the listen!

Unputdownable

Reacher...he is absolutely incredible. The way things work in his head, the way he works through different scenarios, and the conclusions he comes to with is astounding. I couldn't stop listening because I HAD to know what was going to happen next! Thank you Lee Child for giving us all Reacher ❤️

Distracting narrator.- skip to Dick Hill books

The other narrator. Dick Hill is perfect for the Reachers character though it is not clear he would be good for other books. Johnathan McClain may be fine for other books (like a Spongebob book) but he is a horrible distracting narrator for Reacher. I believe he is a good narrator, but just not for this series. McClain's women's voices are especially irritating. When I watch Spongebob I love Spongebob's and Patrick's voices, but if I were to watch a James Bond film and all of the characters had cartoony voices it would be irritating and distracting. I would be paying more attention to the voices than the story. That is what it is like listening to Johnathan McClain narrate Reacher. Fortunately, the Reacher books can be read in any order. Skip to Dick Hill books and hope the three narrated by Johnathan McClain are eventually redone.

Jack Reacher books are already very campy and over the top, so one needs to suspend belief to enjoy the book. When all of the voices sound stupid then the book just becomes stupid camp.

As always, Jack Reacher entertains!

Another entertaining Jack Reacher adventure. I especially enjoyed Johnathan McClain's performance. I love to let these mysteries ynfold instead of trying to guess who the criminal is!

Running Blind

I love all the Jack Reacher books! This is the best I have read so far! It kept me guessing to the very end! I could not put in down! So many twists and turns! At the end it occurred to me, hipnotism! But I did not know who? Amazon reader

one of the best

This book delivers a broader picture of Jack Reacher and his personality. A lot of action amongst meaningful relationship considerations.
